Finish Strong Half (FS Series)

I did the race as a relay year before last. I was the runner but I ride the roads on the route every week. They are two lane rural roads. They won't be closed so there will be traffic but by and large it will be light. The course is definitely hilly. How hilly depends somewhat on your frame of reference. It is constant hills the whole way with some definite tough stretches like Gum Springs. FS says the vertical is 1400 but Mapmyride says 2400. Different sources calculate the vert differently. Mapmyride shows the Raleigh IM 70.3 ride as around 1800 and that is known as moderately hilly (again, not to someone whose frame of reference is the Rockies). It's really pretty though.

Rode the bike course, but its been a little while. I thought it was more hilly than the Raleigh 70.3 course. I don't have any garmin data to support that claim, just my opinion based on experience. I have never done that race, but I've done the swim, and the bike. I have heard the run course is pretty tough (from several runners much stronger than I). If you are looking to do the aqua bike, than that isnt a concern.
All that to say.......its definitely not flat. I would say moderately hilly to hilly.
