Comments: I was probably hurt more than helped by my Body Paint Skinsuit on the day... long sleeves + 95° sunny weather likely didn't do me any favors. I was also training through the race so may have been a little more tired than I thought. I expected 300 watts average and ended up with 262... wasn't excited about that. Nonetheless I felt like I put out a reasonable performance, again being foiled from the gold but not embarrassing myself either. What would you do differently?: Probably wear a short sleeve suit and maybe forego the "booties" since it was so hot. Also dump a bottle of water on myself before the start... and possibly take the aero bottle with me next time to get a sip of water. Post race
Warm down: Spun around the parking lot until I felt like I wasn't going to die. What limited your ability to perform faster: Ehh, hopefully it was just a matter of heat and built up fatigue and not a serious issue with my fitness. Event comments: Oak Ridge Velo (being the RR state championship) is a great race. The Omnium was a lot of fun last year... hopefully I can do all of them again next year. Start time was 5:01:30 so arrived about 3 to make sure I had time to get in a good warmup and get into my skinsuit.
Of course I forgot to bring a normal skewer to use with my KK trainer... so I had to source a skewer to finally get in a warmup.
Ended up being a shorter warmup than I had planned, about 25' (should have been about 45) with 4x1' @ 240w and a couple of spin ups.
Then it was off to the line.
