Subject: Which wheels to use?
I currently have velocity deep V wheels on my bike. I have the opportunity to get a set of fulcrum racing T wheels and was wondering which wheels are actually better for racing. I'm just getting back into the sport of triathlon and on a limited budget. I don't want to get the fulcrum a unless its an upgrade and not just because they look really cool. Cool doesn't make you go faster. Thanks!

Velocity Deep V 's are decent training wheels. The rim is commonly used to build ok wheels with, but the Velocity wheels are hampered by lower quality hubs.

Keep in mind that the Fulcrum T's are the budget wheels from them… Campagnolo (whom owns Fulcrum) tend to use very good quality bearings in all their products though, so you should expect them to have a good hub.

Are they more aerodynamic? Probably not. Are they lighter? No. Are they stiffer? Maybe. With that said, only you can determine if they're worth it or not.

Personally, I would save the money and get an aero front wheel and a disc cover for racing.

Agreed with the others; unless your current wheels need to be replaced, train and race on them until you save up enough for a deep front and disc cover.
