Subject: How to freak out the new guy at work in one easy step
When he asks what your weekend plans are, tell him about your training plans. Most people at work are just used to hearing me or the avid runner talk about training. I thought the guy's eyes were going to pop out of his head. I am pretty sure that is the first time he has thought of me as anything other than a research scientist. It made me laugh.

Hahha my favorite is when they reply with "I wouldn't even want to DRIVE that far!" and I say "Me either!"

Wow, until you posted this it never occurred to me that I since I live 6.5 miles from work, I often run longer on my morning workout than my commute.

A girl at my work asked where I had been, and it went like this:

Me: I raced a 50k
Her: Sweet. Road or trail?
Me: Trail
Her: what were you riding, Mtn bike or BMX?
Me: It was a running race
Her: Silent 'your crazy' smile plastered on her face
