Comments:

The best part of this race was that I had fun. The weather as perfect (cool, overcast and a slight tail breaze), I felt great, and I had the IPod going. I beat my Steamboat time by almost 11:00 minutes. The negative was couldn't maintain a steady pace and lost time every mile. My first mile was 8:00 minutes and I lost about 10 to 15 seconds off my pace every mile. By miles 11 and 12 I was at a 10:00 shuffle.

The traffic on I-70 honking at first was inspiring, then got annoying. IPod issuses between miles 4 and 5 cost me a few seconds.
What would you do differently?:

I dont' know. I need a coach.
Post race
Warm down:

Hung out at the Post Race Area (Idaho Springs football field) with Greg, Anne and Joe. Drank O'Douls.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My legs. Lungs were OK.

Nice run, the races where you actually have fun are always the best.  O'Douls?  What, they didn't have real beer after the race?

Nice job Baby!!  And I agree, they needed real beer at that race   Keep up the work and training and you'll keep getting faster, but more importantly, you need to keep having FUN with it!!  I'm glad I'm not the only one in the family who is now officially obsessed!

Nice job with the race. Running downhill isn't as easy as it sounds.  Lots of quad strain! Remind me for the next S&T and I'll see if I can bring some Coors Cutter for you.

Congratulations on the PR. It's always a good feeling when it happens. I ran the race too but guess I got too engrossed in the run to notice the honking. I'll listen for it next year. Hope next year's weather is as good as this year's!
