I was just looking over the 2014 Ironman Wisconsin Athlete guide and it says that the 2015 Ironman Wisconsin is moving to October. Can anybody confirm that October 3 is going to be the 2015 race date?

Buuurrrrr I hope not. I'll be racing there for the first time next month and it it moves to October, it will probably be my last. October is hit and miss on whether it's "cold" (highs in 50's) or still cooling down here in NE. I'm sure it's worst up in WI.

It was a typo, page before says second Sunday in September as it is every year. Thats one reason not to read those athlete guides too much, they are full of errors.

I agree, that is wayyyy too cold. holy cow, it is not far fetched to believe there could be some snow, or at least over night frost.

I tried searching for that news - no such confirmation anywhere that what they put in the athlete guide is correct. maybe it's a typo? you would think they would make an announcement like they did that Louisville was moving to October. IMWI in October -- shaking my head.

WTC cuts and pastes from other races athlete guides and often make key mistakes by not correcting pertinent information for the current race.

Sadly they make key mistakes in the athlete guide often.

Thanks for the information everybody. I was afraid I was going to have to buy snow tires for my bike. Looking forward to volunteering this year and racing next year.

I'm a fairly good climber but don't want to blow up on the run. I'm 60 and have a FTP of 230 watts. Any suggestions?

If you would have told me that I would want to train over ten hours a week for a race that can last up to 17 hours, I would have laughed. But somehow, my ACL injury has refocused my outlook on life.

It makes no sense to train hard for a year to hone that aerobic system only to have all that training undermined by a few anaerobic bursts on race day. So, how do you go about it?
