It's really personal preference because iPhone, Galaxy, etc. are all good phones and get the job done.

Personally I can't stand the Samsung phones because I don't like the level of customization they do to the android OS and I feel the phones are a too "plastic" feeling.  I don't like the iPhones because they're too restrictive and I can't do anything to the phone however I feel they have the best hardware.

I have been using a Moto X for the past year and absolutely love it.  It's a great size and is soooo fast.  It's probably the most pure android OS phone you're going to get aside from flashing a ROM on your own phone.  Even a year after it's introduction I feel the Moto X is still the best phone on the market and just picked one up for my wife last week.

I went from a iphone 4s to Galaxy Note 3 about half a year ago and am very happy.  The Note 3 is pretty much the biggest unit around and although bulky, the screen size was worth it to me.  I use my phone more than a PC and I wanted something that wasn't as microscopic as the iphones.  As far as reliability, I find my Galaxy much better (never has crashed or locked up yet).  I also really like the fact that app and operating system updates seem to occur by themselves, in the background, and don't require tremendous amounts of user monkey-time like my iphone used to demand.  That alone was worth the switch.

My first smart phone was a droid.  I didn't and don't and wouldn't do much customization, so the whole android thing didn't really benefit me.  The switch to iphone, everything seemed so seamless.

But maybe that's why I want to go back to android, too stepford wife!!!

recently made the switch and love the Galaxy. First day I had it I spent a good deal of time dragging and dropping media files. So nice! Buh-Bye iTunes!!!

You could replace the 4S screen for about $30. For a few bucks more you can change the front and back colors while you're at it.  My 4S is hot pink now.

Does take a bit of skill, and the ribbon cables are fairly delicate, but not all that hard a job.

I do not have a smart phone but thinking about getting one. Iphone does not have ant+ built in but galaxy does. I kinda like this idea since I use the Garmin app on my iPod touch all the time I just always forget the stupid adapter. Great for when I am on the dreadmill at work.

I replaced the screen on my wife's iphone.  The ultra tiny screws stressed me out so badly that I burst a blood vessel in my eye.  The screen needs to be replaced again so lucky me gets more practice!

There are repair shops popping up all over the place around here. My iPhone 4 made it 3+ years without a scratch, then I dropped it while getting out of the car. Got a new screen installed for $70.

Come on, man, I thought you guys were triathletes!  When our toys break it's an excuse to get new ones, not fix the old ones.....

My wife has a Galaxy S as her personal cell. I have an iPhone for work.  The Galaxy gives her much more landscape in which to work. Nearly any app you can get for an iPhone is available for an Android.  The keyboard alone makes me want to go to it, when my Evo Shift eventually dies.

I'm all in love with my S5 now. I never use a case, and always use my pocket... but I have no problem with the size. Love it. The screen rocks. Maybe the i6 will be all that... but if it is size you are worried about, you'll get over that fast. I'm waiting to get my zero lemon battery. Triple the storage. People go 3 days. Although I will say, battery life is good as is. I know what a 2800 mah battery will do, and this phone isn't bad.

Just for you S5 folks... My new Zero Lemon battery plus case rocks. Holster, case, and battery for $60. Plenty of videos on YouTube. It's not small.... But been on it for 3 days straight, and it's only down to 25%. I have not been taking it easy. Screen full bright. It's so nice actually being able to use a big screen.
