I know the Cateye is popular, but I have found durability problems with them. After the second one died, I gave up.

I had a wireless Cateye system for a while.  It was great.  Accurate, reliable.  Had speed and cadence.  It's a great piece of equipment to have if you don't want to spring for a GPS system.

For a basic computer Cateye double wireless is awesome. I have had no problems with mine. Until you decide to go with a powermeter this is a basic bike computer that is durable & will provide all the non-PM data you need.

I have a wireless sigma, it has worked just fine for over 2 years. I had some issues when I changed the battery but that was my fault because I bent the battery sensor. I think that it cost me about $100 Australian so you could probably pick one up in the US for half that.

If you need cadence the Double Tempo wireless by Nashbar was a steal at $39.00, on sale.
