Might do Augusta 70.3 river swim(not to cold) but other than that just planning to stay in Florida for 70.3 and IM events. Haven't purchased a wetsuit yet and was trying to decide on the full ones or the sleeveless ones with arms not covered. Would it be that big of a difference with Florida water temp? Would the salt water make a difference? That much difference in speed?

FL won't be wetsuit legal for any race until Oct/Nov/Dec time frame depending on where the event is in FL.  If it is WS legal a sleeveless would be fine.

Salt water and a wetsuit is best of both worlds.  Speed depends on how good a swimmer you already are.  If in the 1:45-2:00 range you'll see more than faster swimmers.

If you do early races you may get wet suit legal too, especially the further north you go.  That said, I'm in my 5th year of triathlons and I've worn a wetsuit 3 times, earliest race was April; latest November.  I didn't need to wear one any of those times and the race director probably had to work to make the race wet suit legal.  Each time I was in a sleeveless suit.  I don't know that I saw much of a time savings, but then again I'm not the speediest swimmer anyway!

I'm from Austin, TX but temporarily working in Tallahassee. I have a full sleeve wetsuit and I am usually too warm in it. I strongly recommend sleeveless for the southern states, especially for long swims. If you are doing it right, you warm up pretty darn fast in the water.

Well IM Florida is usually wetsuit legal. So if that's on your list then you'll want a wetsuit.

I'm doing my first tri Saturday. It starts at 7 AM and the forecast is calling for a high of 82 (air temp). Do I need to rush out and get a wetsuit?

This is a 'first impressions' review of the Fit2Race Sockeye Fullsuit. From a first wetsuit point-of-view, I was able to dramatically improve my pace over non-wetsuit swims.
