Extreme Veteran 1234 West Michigan | Subject: Best jammers and why I'm looking to purchase my first pair of jammers and am looking for advice. I'm not looking to spend a lot ($25-$30 + reasonable shipping) and the obvious stuff like sizing accuracy, comfort and durability. I've gone to a few sites online and it seems as though most reviews tend to include the same type comments pro and con... Thank you. |

New user 1351 Austin, Texas | Subject: RE: Best jammers and why Consider the material it's made out of. I used to buy the nylon/lycra jammers and they seemed to wear out relatively quickly. I got one made out of polyester and it's a LOT more durable. As much as I love people sneakin a peak at my butt crack showing through a pair of jammers that have worn thin, I think I'll stick with the polyester and keep my man areas covered. |

Extreme Veteran 574 Eden Prairie, MN, Minnesota | Subject: RE: Best jammers and why Anything from the Speedo Endurance+ line. You'll pay $5-10 more than for "regular" shorts, but the fabric is resistant to chlorine, so it won't get thinner or turn semi-transparent. My last pair lasted 2+ years and only needed to be discarded when the stitching started to break apart. The fabric was still in fine shape. I've been using my current pair since late 2011. |

631 | Subject: RE: Best jammers and why By my son and myself wear the Sporti jammers from Swimoutlet. They seem true to size. You can always find older design for $12-16. He swims all year round sometimes multi times a day. They seem to hold up. As a 10 year old some times he fails to rinse the chlorine out and they will sit in the laundry room for a couple days prior to washing. He says they seem to work as well as the Speedo, Nike, Dolphin and TYR that he has had. My experience is much more limited with the different brands. So I like them because of price to performance. I am sure there are high end suits that would be faster. But our suits are not holding us back. Edited by Sidney Porter 2014-08-25 10:21 AM |

Expert 2098 Ontario Canada | Subject: RE: Best jammers and why Speedo endurance + gets my vote, just great long lasting Jammers would be even better if they would improve the stitching material which usually wears out before the suit material. Edited by RRH_88 2014-08-25 12:35 PM |

I won't lie I have only washed mine a handful of times, so the color has definitely faded. They are true to size and for the cost it seems like they will last for a season based on my current use. |

New user 246 madison, Wisconsin | Subject: RE: Best jammers and why I've had great luck with Nike 100% Polyester jammers. Swim Outlet usually has them on sale. I think they are pretty much the same suit as the others mentioned. And, like the others, I wish the stitching was as durable. I sat down on the deck before practice once and completely exploded the back seam. (keep in mind that this particular pair was worn for 4 years, twice a week, only rinsed, never washed, and usually thrown in a bag only to be pulled out for the next swim) Edited by pwoolson 2014-08-25 2:25 PM |

631 | Subject: RE: Best jammers and why Several people have commented that the stitching fails on the poly. Is that because the fabic doesn't have as much stretch as the lycra / lycra nylon blends? That would indicate that if you go poly make sure it fits you right at the beginning. |

Most manufacturers recommend that you not wash them, just rinse with water afterwards to get the chlorine out.. Soap & detergent actually breaks down the material. I either wear mine into the shower at the pool locker room or rinse them in the sink when I get home and then hang up to dry. (I also confess to occasionally throwing them into my wet bag and forgetting about them until the next time I go to the pool....) Mark |

Elite 3090 Spokane, WA | Subject: RE: Best jammers and why I'll go against the grain a bit and say that my Nike nylon/spandex jammers have been very durable. They are what's available at my local Big 5 and they go on sale for $20-25. I have several pair and none of them have worn out and they've seen a lot of use. I've even worn them in races up to HIM. I wash them in the washer after every use and lay them flat to dry. |

278 Atlanta, Georgia | Subject: RE: Best jammers and why I have three pair of jammers I cycle through right now & they are all TYR. I have zero complaints. If you go to their site, you can typically find jammers in the clearance section for about $25 (give or take) and if you are a USAT member, you can use the coupon code on your member card to get an extra % off of them. |

Extreme Veteran 1234 West Michigan | Subject: RE: Best jammers and why Thanks for all the feedback. I ended up ordering a pair of TYR durafast, bought them at Swimoutlet for $22 + $5 shipping so they came in on budget too. Can't wait until they arrive, I'll post an update after the first few swims...

But then how would you know if their grooming habits were "fully aero" or not? |
