Subject: Running The Trails at Yankee Springs??
Booked a last minute one-nighter to camp at Yankee Springs on Sunday (modern camp). I'd like to get a trail run in anywhere from 6 to 10 miles. Looking at the map, it looks like I can pack up the 5-mile Long Lake loop right by our campsite. Anyone know if this is a good option or should drive over to some of the other trails at the north end of the park? Also, its called a "loop", but it does not appear to loop back to the start. To get back to camp, would I "loop" from the modern camp clock-wise around the lake and the drop down at the end of the trail on the east side and pick up the park road to get back to camp, or are their other trails that could get me back? Thanks in advance for any info!!!

I've run the long lake and deep lake mtb trail. I enjoyed those runs, although long lake I got a little turned around.

I can train for half marathons on pavement and on trails, but as soon as I change it up to gravel or loose dirt my knee swells and the pain it causes is unreal. Any ideas why this happens?
