I've just read the Triathletes Training Bible.

I've been doing triathlon on and off for the last couple of years. I was in a crash on my bike and haven't been training for several months. I've had coaches in the past but I feel I know enough about the sport now to write my own programs.

Anyone used the book to write their own programs? What is your review of how it has gone?

Meh,

Read Skiba's books, much less dense, far better information, especially if you have a power meter.

I would also recommend Endurance Corner as well, they have some great information from many qualified coaches, athletes, exercise physiologists, etc

And finally

Coach Gordo

Yes, I used the concepts in the book to create my annual training schedule. Once I had the first year done, it was just a matter of tweaking it for the following years. It has served me well.

Some anaerobic training is essential. You will need to have some speed to break out of the pack, turn a buoy at a proper angle, or to lose the annoying swimmer behind you that's grabbing your ankles.

I was humbled last year. My body shut down on me just before two World Championship events. I was originally in top form to medal in both, but my strength was sapped from me.
