Other than replacing it, have you had success with cleaning or adding something to it.  My tape is pretty new, but I sweat a LOT!

I clean mine with some soapy water (some SImple Green in a bucket of water) and a rag when I'm washing the bike.

I replace it every couple of years, normally when I replace my brake cables and have to strip off the tape anyway.

Get different tape.  I use Arundel Gecko bar tape.  I also sweat quite a bit.  In the end it's a personal preference, but I don't care for cork tape.  It feels fine when dry, but when it rains, feels really slippery.

Yep use different tape. I like Lizzard skin best...more expensive but worth it.

Here's what I do

-wrap bars in electrical tape
-coat with spray adhesive
-while adhesive is still wet, rub sand on it.
-one more coat of adhesive

wipe off the sand that doesn't stick after dry.

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.
