Comments:

Was happy with my swim. Took off very fast for the first 50m or so just to get away from everyone and never looked back from there. Lead from start to finish and had the fastest swim by almost a minute. Very happy with it.
What would you do differently?:

Nohting.
Transition 1
  • 00m 56s
Comments:

A pretty good T1 for me. I've never been under a minute for T1 so can't complain.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Bike
  • 52m 43s
  • 19.5 miles
  • 22.19 mile/hr
Comments:

Couldn't seem to get a very high speed going on this bike course. Only averaged 22.2 which is a bit on the low side. Not sure why. Pushed it pretty hard and just couldn't get going. Not an awful time but I know I can do better.
Transition 2
  • 00m 48s
Comments:

Happy again with the transition.
Run
  • 22m 47s
  • 3.3 miles
  • 06m 54s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt okay on the run but should have pushed it a lot more. It's the first sprint I've done all season and I guess I just didn't realize how short the 3 mile run was going to be. It was over before I knew it and I had a lot left in the tank. Surprisingly still had the 5th fastest run of the day though so wasn't too bad.
What would you do differently?:

Go faster.

Event comments:

For only putting on such small, local races, Piranha Sports does an outstanding job. Everything was on-time and very organized. Nothing was done over-the-top or special about the race, but there were absolutely no problems. Just perfect.

When I told my husband that I planned to work toward completing a sprint triathlon, he smiled and was supportive, but a bit disbelieving.

In addition to writing your race number on each upper arm, they also wrote your age on your calf. This allowed me to see who was passing me by in the bike section of this race.

The boat was being tossed around. Someone noted that there were whitecaps on the waves. Another guy said, “This is going to be challenging.” I began to wonder what he meant by 'challenging'.

Since your “A” race is your marathon, which you stated in your question, this should be your main focus. I encourage you to taper a bit for the sprint distance triathlon.
