Ever done any endurance type sports before? If yes, how recent? If no, well, if it were me I wouldn't even think of it.

It wouldn't be smart, you wouldn't be racing the 2nd two, but meh, if you are in Ironman shape..... you could hobble through the last 2.

Not speaking from personal experience--I've done one HIM, and not in any particular hurry to do another, but if you're in good enough shape that the distances aren't a problem, and you're not racing them all (and can afford the entry fees, bike transport, etc.) it might be a fun way to see the local sights and get in a swim, bike, and run with logistical support. No way would I race them all, though. Maybe the first one, and the next two just for fun/sightseeing--I'd probably take a camera and ride/run with the BOP.

If you have experience doing HIM or IM and your properly trained, I would think you could race the first and last, with the one in the middle being a slower training event. All depends on how well you recover.

thinking about it you could do it. You may not be able to go hard at all 3 but you basically have a hard training day 3 times and take almost the whole week off. Speaking from experience of racing 3 weeks in a row in the past the third week just loses some of its fun and starts to seem like work. If your spouse is there I would strongly recommend against it

Can it be done? Sure it could.  Can you do it?  I have no idea, as others have said it depends on what kind of shape you are in.

I look at it this way.  Most of my weekends' training consists of 5-7 hours of SBR anyway.  Add to that the fact that I'm doing another 5-6 hours of SBR during the weekdays in between, so I'd feel very confident that doing three consecutive HIMs in the 6-7 hour range would be fairly simple especially if all I did was rest/recover during the weeks in between.

Now would I want to do that... that's another story!

personally I wouldn't do it. There would be no justification I can think of to do 3 HIMs in 3 weeks, unless you just
are doing it for the heck of it.

From your race log, seems like your first HIM is scheduled end of next Feb. Then 2 months till the HIM on May 3.

Trying to get in 4 HIM's in a span of 3 months is most likely a case for burnout and poor performance. Perhaps injury as well.

Why not focus on just 2 HIM's, and just enjoy biking/running during the rest of your trip ?

This way you can build on your first HIM experience, have new goals for the second, and have fun on your trip.

It is possible and crazy. If you want to do it, you can.

Google the "Iron Cowboy." 30 Iron distance races in one year. He did one every weekend for a lot of the year.

It would be all about pacing and recovery. It might make the rest of the vacation less fun if you are constantly recovering from the race you just did but if that is how you want to spend your vacation then it can be done.

Last year, 8 men set a Guiness World Record for doing 30 IMs in 30 consecutive days.  Link

I personally wouldn't do 3 HIMs in three weeks while in Europe.  I'd rather just do one and go site seeing the rest of the time...or eating good food and drinking different beers.  There's FAR more to life than triathlon...at least for me.  YMMV.

This half Ironman plan covers many weeks of challenging, but attainable training for someone who has some endurance experience, and ideally some Olympic distance races within the past season.
