Swimming is my worst discipline so I sought out the Swim Labs in Colorado Springs, CO, (which was featured in February's Triathlete Magazine) while vacationing in Colorado. I must say they have an incredible set up there and have staff with impressive resumes. They had me swim in their high-end Endless Pool with 2 real-time recorders which were rigged up to a TV screen up front. I'd swim then we'd review the tapes and he'd show me how whatever we were focusing on looked compared to another well-known swimmer(s) then helped me work to achieve that (drills, etc). Without going in to too much (further) detail it was a great experience!!!! Very professional staff, reasonable pricing, on time, incredible ideas/tips and helpful drills. Afterwards, I got a CD recording of the swim lesson and they e-mailed it to me. My husband also took a lesson and found it equally helpful. We plan to return.

So, if you're looking for help with the swim (and can get to Colorado Springs, CO), check out Swim Labs!

Good deal. Seeing yourself on video is a huge eye opener. I have a friend coach me (for a monthly fee) and my kept telling me I was crossing over or doing whatever million other things wrong. I believed him but it wasn't until I got it on tape that I saw how bad it was and my micro adjustment wasn't anywhere near enough. Sometimes you just need to see what the hell is going on.

I think you meant to say in Denver? Didn't know there was one in the Springs.

Yes! You are totally correct! It was at Highlands Ranch (Denver suburb). Sorry about that! We stopped for some post-Swim Lab food deliciousness in the Springs. SORRY!

Also, yes, I can't even imagine making swim stroke corrections without the video visual feedback. There is simply no comparison. I've got Redman Full distance [my first 140.6!!! scared to pieces] coming up in one week then will focus on the specifics as instructed. Hope to make it back to Swim Labs this winter.

Seems reasonable compared to what some people pay for coaching.

We go to Denver quite often and I've wanted to give this a try but never made time for it. Thanks for the recommendation!

Check around. There's a local gym here that does it for $20 (if they get enough people signed up) and that's where I did mine but it's only like 2 months out of the year. Video quality was so-so and I didn't get the video afterwards but it worked for me.

Thats pretty good value.

I got a friend to video me with a GoPro, I was able to figure out a lot of things myself but also had a lot of help and great tips from posting on here and another forum. I also used youtube videos to fix things like my catch and pull.
