Good morning BT...somber day as we remember 9-11.

4:15am:  15 min WU/10X 1:00 speed repeats at race pace/cool down. Cut it short today as I needed to get stuff ready for our first cross country meet of the season!  I bet I'll have a bunch of nervous freshmen today!

Have a good day, all.

Good luck at the XC meet! Still remember my first one.....they had watered the field and it smelled like wet grass. To this day, if I smell that, my HR accelerates.

AM 50 minutes of trainer fun.
PM 2500m of swimming. Just did some endurance stuff and form work instead of hard sets, as really feeling tired lately--not just going back to work but ramping up run mileage plus starting an online course. I haven't been a student in 20+ years and it's wearing my brain out!

Told my students about "Immortal Training Stairs" and we had a good laugh about it--they weren't sure whether it meant they'd be so fit after doing those stairs every day that they'd be immortal, or the stairs would still be there long after they were gone!

Thanks for the good luck wishes!  Love your memory of your first meet--and that you still have a physical reaction to that smell!    Also loved your kids' reactions to the Immortal Stairs!  That's great!

Hello!

5:15am - 60 min power spin. Had a guy visiting the studio the the East Coast who is doing IM Maryland next weekend. Was fun to have him in class! I love when we have visitors!

Biked with the kids to school. Then biked to the gym.

8:30 am - 3 miles on the TM while waiting to see if someone showed for my 9am class...nope.
So did some Immortal Stairs work (ouch), upper body ST and lots of PT exercises.

Biked home. At least I'm addling a little milage this way :-)!

9/11 Never Forget!

2.5km swim this morning, bit tired from the running last night.

The evening I changed my bike tires. First time I've done it, changed to GP4000s II. I have to admit, I do like the smell of new tired...

Headed out from the house and bike commuted down the coast to work. I noodled through the first 10 miles of the ride but then found a group to roadies to play chase with. (I was the rabbit) I stayed away and ended up with a very nice tempo ride. (27 Mile Ride)

At lunch I did my scheduled tempo run. I ran from the office down through the lagoon to state beach and then up to Dog Beach in Solana and stopped at Powerhouse Park on the way back and did 1 lap of the buoy then resumed my run where I did the last bit at Half Marathon Pace. (12 Mile Run, 6 @ HMP, 1000 meter Swim)

I will be commuting home tonight back up the coast route. (27 Mile Ride)

Hope the meet went great Kim!

Easy 40 min bike ride today. Sorting out my new cool weather gear (arm/leg warmers, jacket, full gloves etc). Riding a Metric Century Sat morning and it could be as cold as the low 40s at start time . . . dang, I'm not ready for cold . . .

I'm on the other side of the college-student desk. I'm the one with the red pen in my hand. Those of us with schedules that change from day to day actually have an advantage, I think.
