In.  Did it in 2010 and 2012.  Missed qualifying for the 70.3 WC by "this" much the last time around.  Moving up to 45-49 next season so looking to see what I can do.  Also doing NOLA and TX 70.3's.

Officially in! This will be my first 70.3, and the first of 2 planned for 2015 in order to get ready for IMAZ later in the year. But first things first. Looking forward to Syracuse!

Average wetsuit swim.  Challenging first 30 miles of the bike.  Brutal run.

That's it in a basic nutshell.

spot on. especially the bike...you'll gain 2-3mph on the back half of the bike. 1st half is pretty brutal

I'm in it again. Didn't do it last year (as my prep race for IMLP). I lose count this will be I think my 3rd or 4th time doing this one. Just getting things started again on the trainer and treadmill. Hopefully I'll be up there a couple times early spring to get some more work on the course.

I'm in. This will also be my first 70.3 race after a few olympics and sprints in 2014.

I have read about the brutal run course and hope to get some good hill training in beforehand. Anyone planning on riding the bike course in April or May prior to the race? Would be fun to have a training partner for a ride or two to know what we're in for.

I'm not doing that race (but still training the distance), and wouldn't mind riding with anyone that is doing it and wants a training partner.

yep...just need a few good rains to wash the grit and broken car parts off the shoulders of the roads. I can only ride on sundays but I think the cny tri club has rides every saturday morning. do you live near syracuse? Im doing lake placid this year but I've done syracuse 3x and its a great course to train on.

I live about 4 hours from Syracuse, unfortunately. Sunday rides might be perfect as I could drive up very early Sunday morning or just get a hotel room for the night. I fish often so perhaps I will take a few full weekends to check out some of the lakes neighboring Syracuse as well.

For those who have done this race in previous years, what sort of air temperatures are 'typical'?

High around 80, low around 60.  2013 it got up to 90.

I'm "Healthy", not sure about having the great race. Training hasn't been going as planned, who put this Life thing in the way? It will be an adventure none the less.

Sorry I didn't see your reply, Jason. I hope you had fun and were able to beat the lightning. Unfortunately I was not and got pulled off the course before completing the second run loop. Btw, I see you are from Rochester! So am I (although technically Brockport.) Enjoy the rest of the year!

Same here, I was pulled from the course as well. I was 2.5 miles from the finish. I knew the run was going to be rough, especially with the amount of training I was doing leading up to the race. I'm not far from you, I'm in North Greece/Hilton area. Small world

It was the morning of Ironman Newfoundland 70.3, I felt queasy. I didn't want to eat or drink anything. I had a full blown case of the pre-race HEEBEE GEEBEES.
