Subject: Wetsuit fit question - quick advice needed!
So I just received a NeoSport Podium wetsuit,

I was unsure between M and L sizes, and I bought (wrongly??) an L size.

My Sizes: chest 41, waist 33.5, Weight 170lbs, Height 6'1

WetSuit M Size : chest 38-40, Waist 33-35, Weight 150-170lbs, Height 5'9-5'11
WetSuit L Size: chest 40-42, Waist 35-37, Weight 170-190lbs, Height 5'10-6'

Now, I was swimming with that same wetsuit in M size in Europe, and it was very difficult to put it on, felt a bit too small, uncomfortable, but it was okay. I always assumed it was the wrong size as someone lent it to me.

I just bought the L size: I can put it on without ANY effort, still slightly snug, but not very tight, and there is a lot of room in the chest area: if I bend there are huge wrinkles on the chest area.

I think I may have to send it back to Amazon? Do you think I can be sure about M size ? There are no wetsuit shops in my area and, as a beginner, I would like to buy one of those cheap NeoSport wetsuits.

Thanks for any advice!!!

Yes, a proper fitting wetsuit will be very difficult to get on, and will feel pretty tight/uncomfortable before you get into the water. In the water, however, it shouldn't feel too tight/restrictive - you want it tight but no so tight that if affects your breathing and/or arm movement.

Putting it on without any effort is a bit of a red flag. Seems like you'd be better off with the M than the L. However, most wetsuit makers don't just have S, M, L etc. - because of the importance of a proper fit there are often like 10 sizes. Perhaps there's something between the M and L?

According to the NeoSport website, there's a MediumLarge indeed , but seems I can't find that size around.

They only seem to sell Medium and Large. Not an easy choice...

I'm doing my first tri Saturday. It starts at 7 AM and the forecast is calling for a high of 82 (air temp). Do I need to rush out and get a wetsuit?
