Am I the only person in the world who doesn't get what the uproar is about?  It's just flesh colored fabric.  They're not see-through.

The issue isn't what observers can see when they look at them.  It's what the observer thinks when they look at them.

I for one am appalled. They should remove that section of fabric immediately!

Yeah, I get it.......but I couldn't work it out if it was paint-by numbers.  Mars/Venus 

the article i read about it said the point is exactly number 3 - that women in cycling need to look like they are flashing to get attention.  the pictures i've seen have much more of a ... shadow ... in the crotch and look way worse than the pic in this thread.

While I agree that it is sad that this is what it takes to get attention in women's cycling, it is not the first time kit design has been the focus of derision including men.

Just look up the Polish Cycling team, or the hideous Colombian Men's kits.  Hell, even AG2R's kits are pretty ugly and got quite a bit of flack when they came out.

That being said, I have a feeling the women on the Colombia team are thinking "At least we are getting SOME PR".  

ETA: for clarification, I think the design is poor and it is sad that they feel the need to do so JUST to get attention.

I'm pretty sure this design did exactly what it was meant to do.  Bring national and worldwide media attention to a women's cycling team that nobody heard of.  Is the design really that bad...I dunno...I'm sort of in the "whatever" camp.  I don't think it's a horrible crime, but I'm also not naive enough to think that this design had no intention of creating the reaction that it did.
