It'll be impressive if they are able to keep or extend the battery life with that new fancy color screen.  Good looking watch - probable replacement for my 310XT when it eventually craps out.

Well I guess I bought my 310xt at the wrong time. I needed to upgrade from my 305 and it comes in tomorrow.

Looks neat but I managed to get a deal on my 910 a while ago and got it new for $330. $330 for a watch is a bit but but man it's sweet. I don't think I'd drop $500 on a watch though... The 910 is still going pretty strong. (feature wise) I'm curious how much the 910 will be after this comes out. Watch looks sweet but I wonder about how well the colors work in the sun, the initial bugs from the first units, and also battery life. I'm eager to read dcrainmaker's review when he gets one.

The killer feature of the 920 over the 910 is going to be the ability to upload to an iPhone. No more waiting until you get home to get your KOM's onto Strava.

Don't like the colors (black/blue , white/red) for an everyday watch, which is what I was looking for if I had to replace my 910. Good enough excuse for me to save $500...

Looks really tacky. I guess I like the normal look of the Ambits better now.

I like the colors. Most of my training and racing clothing is bright and colorful. When you decide to put on clothing made with lycra and spandex you've already crossed the tacky line.

I love wearing bright yellow or orange shoes while I race, but go for black in day-to-day. I can wear the 910 all day and it isn't too noticeable.

The picture looks tacky, but in real life, it looks much better. If you've seen the 620 running watch in real life, it looks more like that only square. Remember, the bright blue on the interior of the band is not that visible while on the wrist.

Yeah, I bet those blue bits in the band wouldn't be too flashy. It's a cool looking watch.
I am disappointed that the face is almost exactly 50% bezel! The 910 was about 1/3. If bright day visibility is going to be an issue, bigger is better.

There has been a workaround for this all along. I do not own a computer, just IPad and iPhone. Using the Wahoo dongle and wahoo fitness app you can load workouts into the wahoo app using your phone or ipad. Then link strava/garmin connect / map my run whatever to the account and you can see your strava segments etc without ever needing a computer! Only works with ant+ enabled devices & I've had success with 310 & 910.

ipad duct taped to the wrist ?

No but seriously....I was really disappointed in the stuff that came out in the last 6 months.

I loved the Polar V800 look but the fact it doesn't support Ant+ and the fact they haven't delivered 50% of the features promised is a huge disappointment

Then I had high hopes for the iWatch. The rumor mill said GPS, water proof and some biometric sensors that could have revolutionized things. While it will sell well, it's not a sports watch yet.

Then I saw the 920. OK, maybe...kind of ugly (IMO), feature set is ok, but no way it's worth $500 if you already have a 910.

But then....just when I had decided no watch upgrade this year....they announce Garmin IQ....

IF this supports the 920 it could be a game changer. Basically it would allow independant software developers to write applications for the watch. So an army of sw developers could start writing cool apps that would run on the watch. strava on your watch. Golden Cheetah features on your watch, control your iphone from your watch.....allow third parties to build hardware that interacts with the watch...biosensors.....lactate meters, glucose meters...

It's not clear if the 920 will be supported but my bet is yes.

Now I really have to try hard and like those colors. I wonder if they can be changed programatically

I do the same thing with 910 and a Nexus 5. There is an ANT+ chip in several high end android phones that just need some software to bring it to life!

And it's here:

It looks like it will NOT support BTLE accessories, but you can transfer data by BTLE.

Also, not sure about whether they allow bigger pool lengths.

Still glad I went with the Suunto Ambit 2. A few less features, already has the ability to create apps and it just flat works. Have never had a battery issue or a freezing/crashing issue. I met a guy last weekend that had the Fenix 2 which is what I was originally going to purchase, he said in a two weeks it had crashed 3 times and lost info on his runs. And it doesn't look near as nice as my watch.

I wear my Suunto as an everyday watch, looks great!

According to Ray the 920xt DOES allow pool lengths up to 150m/y. That means I need one before next summer.
