Hi folks.

Well, swimming season is approaching for me (being in a cold climate, I swim when I cannot bike), and I'm not looking forward to it. This will be my 6th or 7th Winter swimming (3x per week), and the boredom really gets to me. I almost didn't swim last year because of this issue.

So, I'm hoping having something to listen to while doing laps will help. Anybody care to recommend a product? Ideally, I'd like both radio and MP3; if I had to pick one or the other, I'd choose radio capabilities.

I also don't want to spend a ton; something under $100 ideally.

Thanks.

I don't know about under $100, but the two options I know of are:

http://www.underwateraudio.com/waterproof-ipod-shuffle/

and

http://www.amazon.ca/Finis-SwiMP3-2G-Waterproof-Player-Yellow/dp/B0...

I don't use either but a friend of mine has the Finis SwiMP3 and likes it. I would prefer the first one just because it's smaller and it will work well with iTunes.

Have had one for 2 years and love it. I think I paid $99 for mine, and it appears it is now $140. Not only do I use it in the pool, I take it with me on runs when rain is forecast and don't have to worry about it getting wet.

I love my Swimp3.  No radio capability though.  It has been a huge aid in making swimming more enjoyable.  My only negative is that I've been through four of them in the last five years.  At some point they just quit working.  Twice I've gotten replacements from Finis though at no cost.  I do love the product so much though I keep replacing it.

I purchased the FINIS and I found it was ok for music but did not work well for podcasts. I was constantly trying to adjust it and could not get good spoken word clarity. I exchanged it for the waterproofed ipod shuffle. I really like the ipod. It is so small and light you don't even know its there. I can hear everything clearly and I have no problems with the earplugs. The only potential negative is that the shuffle has really basic functionality. You can start, pause, skip and adjust volume. This is fine for me though as I just start it and let it play until I'm done.

The audio flood device has been great. No problems with mine. FYI I never glued the headphones on & they're just fine.
