78 | Subject: RE: Christmas Count Down/Drop Down Originally posted by leatherneckpa Down 1 lb this week to 372.6. Slower than I wanted, but that also includes pigging out on a full sized bag of potato chips this weekend and eating a Mr Sticky sticky-bun during Monday night football. I'll be more consistent with my training this week and more faithful to good nutrition. I hope to break 370 next week. A loss is a loss! Way to go! |

Master 2380 Beijing | Subject: RE: Christmas Count Down/Drop Down Originally posted by moondawg14 IN! (this parallels my other goal very well.) My 40th birthday is Dec 29th. When I was 18 years old and in college, I weighed 165 pounds. Goal is to be "college weight" by my 40th birthday. Weighed in at 187.6 today.
A good month of progress... I just realized that I transposed some digits on my first post. I was 178.6 on Sept 23. Am under 175 today.

Elite 3770 | Subject: RE: Christmas Count Down/Drop Down I'm a month late but am facing an extended time of no training (possibly labral tear) and I no longer can just ignore my diet! Trying to start incorporating more salads again but I just can't get a good one that I'll eat! |

81 Red Deer, Alberta | Subject: RE: Christmas Count Down/Drop Down Well done! Any loss is good, and slipping once in a while is normal - it's a lifestyle, not a diet. If nothing else, I definitely found WW helped me change my entire relationship with food, which allowed me to lose the weight - and maintain it once it was gone. That said.... sigh. Another kid birthday (why oh why did I have all three of them in the fall??), more cake... and whoever invented mini chocolate bars for Halloween was the devil. Period. I looked and see I was 142.6 last week... I was 145.1 on Monday, but by yesterday was back to a better 142.5. So still up on the month, but even with last week. Why? Too much sweets. I'm eating lots of veggies, but also too many mini chocolates, too much cake, etc. I'm getting most of my workouts in, so that's been helping, and I'm (mostly) tracking - as in, I don't always record all the mini bars, but I know how my calories have been impacted by them. (Excuses? Yeah, a little). Goal for this week, get through Halloween, then bring the leftovers in to my office for my team (all men doing manual labour) to eat - gone by lunch. Secondary goal is to get below 140 by November 30. Really, this time I mean it! |

Veteran 612 Kennebunkport, Qatar | Subject: RE: Christmas Count Down/Drop Down 239 yesterday, 2237 this morning, but I think I already blew that today with a little splurging. I think I was pushing too hard to lose, I have a PT test this weekend and wanted to drop as much as possible, but it was really starting to impact my workouts so I needed some real food today! Workouts have been pretty consistent which is the most important and clean eating most of the time, small steps in the right direction. |

199 | Subject: RE: Christmas Count Down/Drop Down Joining on Halloween!! So, after splurging all month on mini-candy bars. Stuck at 230-235 for a long time. Been hiking up the miles running, for training with a group for the LA marathon. Then doing Ragnar Zion in April. After April planning on starting to get serious about training for first Olympic tri. I know I need to lose the weight to reduce the fatigue on the feet and knees. Today 231.9. I want to be 215 by Christmas. I have a busy schedule till then, but plan to do it all. Simply put I need to get serious!! John |

Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: Christmas Count Down/Drop Down Welcome all! I agree, I hate the person who invented mini-chocolate bars. I am down only two measly pounds for the entire month. I am not going to kick myself, that month included a 2 week vacation where I did NOT gain (that is a huge bonus) and a good deal of travel for work. However, my HIM training plan starts for real this week and I have to really, really, really get serious about this or make the decision to stay where I am (weight and fitness- wise) permanently. I do NOT want to do that, so... Here comes NOVEMBER!!! |

Training/exercise was so-so, diet was as well. The goal is to ramp the bike (on trainer) and run back up this week and stay out of the kids' candy |

Elite 3488 Lakewood, CO | Subject: RE: Christmas Count Down/Drop Down Way to be down those that are Robin - time to launch the plan and make it happen Nov 1 was 220.4 and 27 % - up a bit since the start, but considering I have not done much in 3 weeks that is not too bad. Hopefully have this junk kicked out of the lungs and can balance out life. should be able to make some headway if I can get some consistency in doing something everyday. |

81 Red Deer, Alberta | Subject: RE: Christmas Count Down/Drop Down 1.6 pound loss? Well done! I weighed in yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised to record a 140.9. Down a little, which is great. Still fighting the mini-chocolate demons, but taking it day by day for now. My coach has me running more now, so getting lighter would be a good thing! |

Extreme Veteran 1148 Nisbet, PA | Subject: RE: Christmas Count Down/Drop Down UP 2 lbs. 374.6 The politically correct way to say this is that I am "angry" and confused. But I'm a Marine. I am thinking in MUCH stronger words right now, so I won't type them. But can somebody please explain to me how I can swim over 3000 yds this week, walk a 5k and a 10k, and STILL gain 2 lbs!? My wife is trying to console me with "You are building new muscle." Sure wish I could believe that. Attaining that goal of 350 by New Years is looking pretty dismal right now. But, your wife is right! go ahead and look up extra workouts and weight gain. You will find tons of info. Water weight gain to assist muscles in repairing and strengthening. Really, look it up. (I won't tell your wife she was right )

81 Red Deer, Alberta | Subject: RE: Christmas Count Down/Drop Down Give it a few days - there is almost definitely some water weight in there! I find after I race, even though I sweat a TON, I'm usually up for a day or two as I consume so many fluids to rehydrate, and my body clings to them. (Maybe because I do sweat so much?). You still have 8 weeks to go - even if you don't quite make 350, every pound counts. |

124 | Subject: RE: Christmas Count Down/Drop Down Definitely a little water weight in there, but as the others have stated..."whispering"...your wife is correct. Since you are a marine, at one time you were extremely fit. Your body will actually respond faster than most because you have been there before. All that exercise is making you stronger! The only way to drop weight is to have a calorie deficit. More out than in. What you eat also matters! Now, the good thing about building some muscle is that muscles burn more calories! So, very soon you will see the benefits of that increased muscle mass! Workout report.... Yesterday - 1500m lap swim. 32 min. 500 cal Today - 12 mile bike. 42 min and change. 700 cal. More detail in my training log. |

124 | Subject: RE: Christmas Count Down/Drop Down Ok......like everyone else, I gained a pound last week. But with minimal exercise and not a great diet. 246 today. Today I also began the beginner 12 week sprint training plan. Missed the swim due to work but got the run in tonight with my son. You can see on my training log. 2 miles. Sloooooowwwwwww but good way to get started. My 8yr old son finished without stopping! Tomorrow is bike and strength training. |
