Down to 253.5 with no training last week. 3 weeks, 3 days to go...

Is is bad that I just heard Chuck Woolery say, "We'll be done in 3 and 3" in my head?

Better than hearing "We'll be back in 2 and 2"!

Can I jump in? I don't want to wait for January 1st to make some changes. I've been trying to lose this extra 40 lbs since my last baby was born, and I keep talking myself out of healthy eating. I need some accountability! My first goal is to lose 10% by Feb 14th. That's roughly 20 lbs for me.

So here goes:

Start: 197 lbs 12/8
Goal: 177 lbs by 2/14

Well, finally weighed again on Saturday. Was 220.4 or up about a pound since the start of October. Consider what has and has not transpired I will take it. Still 2 1/2 weeks to Christmas and 3 to the end of the year. Looked back and unfortunately I started 2014 at 219 too so my goal is to end the year under that and also have the habits that will launch 2015 instead of trying to start them in January.....

I am in a holding pattern, not great, but not as as bad as it could be. Leaving for a destination wedding. I am gonna try to get some workouts in among the festivities.

Keep up the good work folks

Weigh in day......no change! Take that as a positive since I have been mourning the death of my car last week. A lot of self medicating. What a frustrating experience. Had that car for 12 yrs and 214k miles. Got my money's worth for sure.

This week, back to the plan.

Get up and get moving.

May she rest in peace!  What kind of car was it?  I got rid of my first ever car in January of this year.  Had it for 10 years.  I sold it to some college kid for $500.  Still see it driving around from time to time.

It was a 2003 Saturn ion. Great car. Had to do some work reasonable to mileage and stuff, but it felt wierd cleaning it out this morning knowing I wouldn't drive it again. Main bearing broke inside the engine block and shot through the lower block. Mechanic said there was nothing that I could have done to prevent it. Kind of like a really old dog, "it was just time for it to go".

Mine was a 2002 Chevy Cavalier, the door was falling off, the battery moved around in it, the windshield wiper fluids didn't work the muffler was about to fall off (thank god for plumbing tape!).  I loved it though.

A little late on my weigh in this week
237 this morning, making some progress in the right direction, now to hold it through the Christmas party's!

I don't like hearing about the car deaths! Finally traded in the wife's at 245K, my commuter car is at 212K and my truck is at 237K and wouldn't start yesterday I guess I know what I'm doing today, after my workout of course!

Great job on the weight loss everyone, keep up the good work and let's reach our goals.

Saturns were very good cars until GM really started poking their noses around in Spring Hill... I feel your pain on the main bearings tho. I was changing my oil last month in my 94 s10 (280K). First I noted the front side of the motor covered in oil. That's front main seal, no biggie. Then I noticed water/oil mixed on the oil cap. That's spightly warped heads (thought I'd dodged that bullet when I blew my heater core and overheated it... twice...). Kinda pricey, but a good excuse to upgrade. Finally, when I washed out my oil pan, it looked like I was panning for Yukon Gold... That's main bearing damage and a failure waiting to happen. Lucky I caught it before there was any catastrophic failure like you experienced. We ended up getting my wife a nice "new" Town & Country (ex Enterprise vehicle), I'm driving our old T&C, and I'll either rebuild the motor (with a few tweaks you can be sure) for a commuter and let my soon-to-be-16yrold drive the van, or sell it and get him a little car.

Had a great weekend.  Went to a Christmas party on Saturday.  I knew I would be consuming extra calories but ran a 13 miler in the morning.  Then I did something that I thought was nearly impossible.  I behaved myself!  Sure I indulged a bit, but didn't go crazy.  Starting the week of right!

All of this talk of dying old cars, I went out and hugged my 97 Subaru with 290 miles on it.

I got back from a week in DC (attending a small wedding). I did not gain anything and that is a win in my world. I lost a week of training, I had good intentions. There was an itinerary to follow of events each day and I ate REALLY well (as in yummy, not good nutrition). We also walked 6-8 miles per day so things evened out. Now I have to get my game face on to rev up my training.

I am doing the New Years Polar Plunge. You think that will burn some calories?

I guess that depends on how long you stay in there.

I didn't get to report my weigh-in Thursday because the server was down.

At Wednesday's WW meeting I weighed in at 366.6, down 2.2 lbs. I started this challenge at 379.2, so I'm down 12.6 lbs so far. Looking to be down at least 15 by New Years.

Well, I was maintaining at least prior to last week and then I don't know what happened. one morning I was up 8 lbs - so disgruntled never recorded it. I think I was supposed to weigh in this morning but was rushing to get into work so I could get home. I will try it Christmas morning before the stockings (if I can beat most of the kids up)

Take that overeating!  I enjoyed myself, but also had some 10 mile runs in there.  This will be my last post for this thread as it's countdown to Christmas!  That time has come and gone (Merry belated Christmas everyone!)

If no one else wants to I'll start a monthly thread on Jan 1st.

Cheers.
