Director of Marketing and E-commerce 

XTERRA Wetsuits & XTERRA Boards is expanding its team in San Diego and we're looking for the right candidate to lead our Marketing and E-commerce Department.

ABOUT THE POSITION...

This management position will have significant influence in the direction, style, and the global establishment of the XTERRA WETSUITS & BOARDS brand identity. 

A major hub of responsibility is to take ownership of our E-commerce digital marketing communications. This person will need to curate a continuous stream of interesting digital content (from both internal and external resources.) As well as be able to deliver the content as a part of the department’s overall communication strategy.

The Director of Marketing and E-Commerce must be able to think strategically and work independently on brand initiatives. They must be able to execute these tactics with a high level of detail. This person will be confident in their work to offer website direction, perform posts in various social media channels (as the voice of the brand), spearhead successful e-mail marketing campaigns, and coordinate collateral to various digital media outlets.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Spearhead the E-commerce strategy to focus on improving sales conversion, customer acquisition, retention and up/cross selling on a global scale.
  • Create “road maps” for all marketing campaigns that generate global visibility for ecommerce channels.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of new Magento Enterprise website.
  • Lead a cross-functional team (including PR, Channel Marketing, Web, Event, Creative, Social Media and Advertising) to deliver marketing plans and strategies.
  • Create and manage the cycle planning calendar that outlines upcoming company initiatives up to 12 months in advance.
  • Create strategic content updates to branded website pages and seasonal product offerings.
  • Ensure social media channel messaging is aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Direct all consumer marketing tactics including, but not limited to, social media, email, paid search, SEO and online advertising to support seasonal campaigns.
  • Candidate is responsible for brand representation on all E-Commerce sites including web banners, videos, social media tie-ins, descriptions, pricing and opportunities.
  • Work closely with the sales team for channel specific campaigns and awareness.
  • Identify new opportunities for XTERRA WETSUITS and BOARDS globally.
  • Develop and maintain a marketing budget for up to 12 months in advance.
  • Recruit and develop additional team members as necessary.
  • Represent all company entities at events, functions and occasionally trade shows.
  • Manage the annual performance review process for the marketing team, ensuring bi-annual reviews and development needs are identified.

 

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
  • A minimum of 5 years of consumer marketing experience, including 3+ years in online marketing.
  • Experience, Enthusiasm and expertise in endurance sports or action sports segments is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong presentation skills needed with copywriting abilities being a plus.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of lifestyle consumer marketing principles, branding, marketing communications, influencer marketing, E-commerce marketing, web marketing, social media, marketing plan development and marketing collateral development.
  • Possess strong strategic abilities combined with analytical skills for developing marketing strategies.
  • An established track record of spearheading a successful international online marketing campaign for consumer goods.
  • Strong cross-functional team leadership, marketing program management and project management skills.
  • The ideal candidate is flexible and adapts to change easily with the ability to successfully complete tasks in a fast pace environment.
  • Brings a positive attitude to all projects and serves as an advocate for driving company culture.

  • Mac Proficient
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop
  • Experience with E-commerce specifically Magento Enterprise a plus
