Good morning BT!  Friday is here!

4:15am:  10 mile run by headlamp under the starry, starry sky.  Gorgeous.

Later:  Traveling with cross country team.  Today is a flat course so should see some stellar times!

Have a great day!

Friday almost gone here!

5:15 AM Easy run from pre-dawn to post- sunrise. Thought i would be sore from Insanity but turns out my legs are pretty resilient--actually felt pretty good. Arms were another story.....

4:15 PM Planned to do an easy recovery swim since I missed yesterday but found out I won't be able to do a real workout tomorrow owing to very limited pool time (it's being used for a scuba class) so did Saturday's workout today (3000m). Swimming after an hour plus of weights plus insanity yesterday equals arms feeling like blocks of cement. Too many pushups, I guess.

Good luck to your XC kids!

I think she's actually a professional triathlete and just does that teaching thing as a hobby

This is a Taper Week so no Delirium Friday today.

I did start out at the beach and do the club swim with the Coyotes where we did 1 lap of the white Buoy (1 Mile Swim)  then bike commuted to work(15 Miles) after a long transition at the coffee house.

At lunch I headed out from the office and ran down to State Beach and then down to Flat Rock and back all at recovery pace but I did throw in a few strides. (10 Mile Run, 6x100 Meter Strides)

After work I am doing another easy ride back to my car and planning on a quick cool off swim. I had planned on swimming at lunch but Torrey Pines State Beach is closed due to contamination

Sounds like my kind of running. (With a headlamp) Winter is almost here which means the return of nighttime madness runs :D

LOL A few years ago, one of my students went home and told her parents I was a pro after my weekend sharing was that I won $300 and some vouchers at a Singapore race and went on an epic shopping spree! Did the math with the kids and we figured out that I actually lost a couple hundred on that weekend, just factoring in flight, hotel, etc. Not even thinking about training time, running shoes, etc. etc. etc. My total "take" from 3 1/2 years in the sport is probably still in the 3-digit range, so I'd be a pretty sorry pro.

As for pros in disguise, I think we need to look at Water Dogg. Keep reading those posts and thinking I want that life!

When I pretend that I do triathlons for a living, and my real job is just a hobby, it makes my whole day better, especially when I have a sucky day at work. If my boss is being a dufus, it's all good because that's just a place I go to get some recovery on my legs before my evening workout

Yep--At this point in my life, if I lived somewhere a bit more amendable to it, I could happily train full time! I've always loved training, racing, and the whole lifestyle, entirely out of proportion to my actual athletic ability.....I have a lot of patience for relatively brainless physical activity in all kinds of weather, total focus when I train or race, and the ability to recover pretty quickly from hard workouts, so I think I'd be a good pro in that respect. Alas lack the genetics and the funds, and on the old side at 45!

Every morning in my mind, I win Kona...but then somehow instead of Mike Reily, the laurel wreath and press conference, I end up feeding cats and teaching fifth graders! I have a feeling though that if tri or running were actually my job and my income depended on my performance, training and racing would be considerably less fun!

I'm on the other side of the college-student desk. I'm the one with the red pen in my hand. Those of us with schedules that change from day to day actually have an advantage, I think.
