Run
Comments: Went as planned. Yesterdays temp was 89*F then the north wind hit which made for a 60*F race. This helped to keep HR under control. Legs got tired the last two miles but was able to keep my form up. HEY, A NEW PR! What would you do differently?: Nothing. Post race
Warm down: Slow running to move out the lactic acid. Banana and water. Waited for results and awards. What limited your ability to perform faster: Sitting in a chair all summer after having surgery. Event comments: For hometown Cleburne it's a good race. Usually more volunteers but usually more runners. The weather scared more of the people off I'm sure. This left drink stations and some turn-a-rounds unmanned. Run up and get your own water, which I didn't, so it didn't matter to me. Good police turn out to signal traffic. Stomach wasn't doing so good this morning. Spent time on the toilet before leaving and again 15 before the race. Got up early, eggs and toast, packed gear, and drove to race one hour early for good parking. After last nights big storm and North wind not many showed.
(4) Energy Boost pills 30 min prior and (1) GU Gel 15 min prior. (1) bottle of water during my hour wait.
Did some running, HR up to 1.5-1.8, just to level out.
