Hi,
Guess the point of this post is to reintorduce, be self-indulgent, myself and ask a couple of simple questions.

So I have disappeared from tri for at least a couple of years, had some changes and now wanting to get back to it. Now back in UK after 10 years in USA and not sure how active this site is for UK'ers. ?

Have put on nearly 5st (70lbs) since my tri days and just last week started addressing that. Signed up for a new half-ironman distance race in June 2015 on the beautiful Isle of Arran.

If anyone is in Glasgow who tri's would love to hear from you. Need advice ref masters swim, bike groups, fun well organised local races.

I have not been on here really since the re-designed site but notice all of my info from the previous has gone, is this common?

Ok, figure thats enough to get on with and from me for now.

thanks for reading or being nosey, as applicable.

D

Well it is mid-life crisis time. I could get a mistress but I still think my wife is hot. Or I can abuse my body like I was still 19. Triathlon world here I come!!

Thousands of spectators lined the shore and bridges overhead. When the announcer said, “Welcome to the best day of your life,” the possibility was still there for all of us.

But just when I was beginning to think that life is consumed by only darkness, just out of my sight, there it was...A glimmer of light.

This is not an easy task, especially for the “9-to-5er” with family. But you can do it – all without sacrificing your marriage, job or family.

“Too bad there’s not anything like this for triathletes.” There are a million books and articles on how to train. One of the toughest parts of triathlon training is how to fit them into everyday life.

I was humbled last year. My body shut down on me just before two World Championship events. I was originally in top form to medal in both, but my strength was sapped from me.

Sometimes life just isn’t fair! We all have situations come up from time to time that test our dedication to triathlon training.

I take for granted getting to train and how fortunate I am to have the health that I have. Life…it doesn’t seem fair and it’s not always fair.
