Hi all, I'm Chris from Newcastle (although I work in Kent Monday to Friday ). I'm 40 this year and currently weigh in at around 19st.i have made the decision that next summer I will complete a Olympic distance triathlon. When I was younger up till around 26ish I boxed at a good amateur standard and always fancied triathlon but never did it. I'm now massively overweight and have my eyes fixed on the triathlon next summer. I am currently running 4 miles (40 Mins) 3 to 4 times a week. I would be really great full for any training program tips or advice from anyone who cares to share.

Thanks

Hi Chris, welcome and good wishes on your adventures in triathlons.

I'm same boat as you in that I have some massive weight loss needed but I have expereinced the joys of completing some triathlons before, it is a great feeling I am sure you will get to ecperience next year.

Only advice I would give (and not that I am great at prcticing my preachings), consistency.. training consistently is more beneficial than hard bursts and then days off..

Slow and Steady

Good luck.
