Hi guys,

I would like to know what you are up to with training and all that. But most profiles I click on don't have their sessions logged here on this website.

So where do you do that? On a paper?

The most complete logging is here in BT. Garmin data goes through Garmin Express to here and Strava.

Training Peaks.

Though I've recently discovered Final Surge and Addaero that I am looking at as possible options.

(and yes, a hand written log as well for me)

There's this totally cool and far out website called Beginner Triathlete that has really cool logging capabilities

I use Strava and Golden Cheetah during winter and just relog here on BT. Take like 2 minutes per workout. I know, I know, that only leaves 23 hours 58 minutes to do everything else in the day, whew!

hehe!  I agree. My garmin devices upload automatically to Strava and Garmin Connect.  I also manually post here and on ST.

I just dump my stuff on garminconnect and leave it there. since it's more of a personal journey and experimentation rather than a systematic training approach at this point I am too lazy to make my data public plus that way noone knows just how pathetic I am at this point :D

I have been logging my workouts here since 2006.

I tried Stava and hated it mostly because unless I am willing to measure every step of a workout with a GPS, its not worth the trouble.

I tried MapMy*** and found it to be very lacking and like Strava, seems to be better at highlighting individual workouts rather than serious logging.

I also have a TrainingPeaks account and keep it sync'd with my BT account but found that BT is still much better at logging and reporting. The only reason I sync with Training Peaks is to share my progress with my coach.

For my needs, BT is still the best place for logging day to day workouts. (GPS or not)

It's crazy cool how apps/sites can be linked to share data.  As some posted earlier, it can set up so Garmin data automatically goes to Strava and BT and probably Training Peaks.

On a related but unrelated note, I actually have a long daisy-chain of apps that start with Garmin and the data moves on down the line to about 5-6 different apps and sites automagically.  It's quite handy!

Hehe, I used to do that too with 5 or 6 different apps and then logging it just at one place and the automatic sharing does the rest.

But in the end I like BT best (unfortunately it doesn't have an automatic sharing with polar flow)

I also log my work outs on VIDAONE. It is even more complete than anything else really!

I actually don't use the Garmin site for anything except uploading files. Not just because it shares, but it's been lightning fast with Garmin Express working. Much faster and a lot more simple than trying to load directly to BT. Not sure if your stuff has anything like that.

If this place crashed and I lost all my data. . . I would cry. . . for days. . . maybe months.

You know you own your data here on BT. There is a feature that you can use to download all or part of your historical logs. (Some other sites make you pay for this feature)

BACK IT UP.

But, you can also trust that the good folks here at BT do have a disaster recovery plan for your data also. (In 8 years, I have never lost a single workout to the IT gremlins)

Very old school here. I use a calendar, or a worksheet if I have one for a particular Marathon or TRI with a training plan.

Movescount (from my Suunto Ambit2).  I used to do Garmin Connect, when I used that device.

Beginner Triathlete, for plots and shoe / equipment tracking.

Strava- for other kinds of plots, and their great segment tracking.

Daily Mile- for social

Golden Cheetah for cycling/power analysis

And, I'm really trying to just keep it to those.  But Training Peaks may be in my future.

I've been using BT for years.  I especially like being able to track the mileage on my shoes.  I don't track a lot of detail but I get good summary detail that helps me track my progress.

I've been logging on BT since 2004 - that makes me feel sort of old I like that I've got everything HERE, in one spot, for comparison - workouts, data, photos, thoughts. I track all my rides with Strava, but that's just data to me. I follow a training plan on Training Peaks, but I just don't like the format for looking at my workouts there. I put all the personal stuff here, which is what I like. Sometimes, I'll want to know what I was doing a few years ago and pull up my logs, and it's kind of fascinating to go back and read through it all... The logs on BT are why I've stuck around all this time!

Like others:

BT, TrainingPeaks, Strava, Garmin Connect, DropBox

Never Look at Garmin Connect, it just pushes workouts to TrainingPeaks and BT.

Tapirik syncs TrainingPeaks to Strava and DropBox (and manually entered workouts in TrainingPeaks (IE swims) to Strava, Garmin Connect, & Dropbox.

BT is for my BT friends to have access.

TrainingPeaks is for my coach and analysis.

Strava is for social (and it is easy to compare efforts, etc)

DropBox is for backup.

Why don't you have it set up to automatically load here too?
