My name is Kyle and I'm conducting a survey for a school project at San Diego State. We are doing marketing research for a social network that would make it easier for people to communicate and connect with friends with similar sporting or outdoor interests.

The research will be used exclusively for educational purposes and I would be happy to share the results here once completed. It should only take 5 minutes and your time is greatly appreciated by a group of SDSU students.

Thanks!

Interesting idea...but the success will be dependent on how many people you can attract and actively use it.  A $1.99 monthly fee will scare away about 99% of your target audience considering other forms of social media are free.

There was a website similar to that--sportsvite?--that I tried a couple years ago. I tried it because my friends don't kayak. I think in two years (it was free), it connected me with one person. I might work in an area with a large population, but around here, it didn't.

As far as my regular workout buddies, I just contact them by text or Facebook.

^^ the money would stop most people.

New twist--If you could block people/ temporarily block groups of people it might work.

women may want to find other women to run with but don't want men tagging along.
If you use this and there is someone you really can't stand that keeps showing up you may want to be able to block that person from seeing when you go out to do stuff.

1.99/month is too much. 4.99 / year might be ok and that way they get a longer period to get used to the platform. Maybe 9.99 for the app as a one time fee? Monthly fees blow.

Took the survey & like the idea. The challenge would be setting up your social groups and getting your existing workout buddies to also commit to using the same application.

But, like most have said, I wouldn't subscribe as a pay service. Make it a 1-time app download with a fee under $5? Then, maybe.

Did the survey but don't want to include my income and no option to not submit like most so I didn't fill it out.

Some of the questions were biased or not clear so may not get right answer.

I wouldn't use it for the price.

The next time you see one of your kids or grandkids, look deep into their eyes and know that they would give anything to have you around for five, ten fifteen, or even twenty more years.
