This is getting a lot of attention other places. Kind of fun to hear thoughts from the local gang. Personally, I think this would be incredible to see and race at anywhere and even more amazing to have nearby. Does anyone know what stage of development it's in? Is this more in the concept / funding stage or is it already off the ground?

I've seen talks about this for quite some time now...I think there was a thread on it in Slowtwitch last year, started by a guy from Wilmington. Looks awesome, but I don't really know much about what stage of development it's in.

Their 1st site in Pender county was denied by the county. They have not settled on a site, which was approved by Pender county. I believe they have purchased the land but that is as far as they have gone at this point

Based on that info Daryn, I think we might be racing there in the 60-64 age group! Too bad they need approvals because it looks awesome! I need to win the lottery and just build my own one!

that video does look cool but I doubt we ever get to see something like that open on the scale of the video. They are looking for 30mil in capital to get it going. Not sure Tri and even all endurance sports in this area will offer enough return. Maybe they will also look to market it for conventions and conferences, but they would need more than 20 rooms to do that.
