Your best bet (although still very unlikely) is to contact the race director.  I'm almost certain that the registration will not re-open online...I don't think that has ever happened for a WTC race with the exception of special cases like those who were not able to race IM Lake Tahoe.

WTC races purposely oversell registration spots knowing that a certain percentage will not show up on race day (for whatever reason), so just because people drop out or decide to take the partial refund, it doesn't mean new spots are available.

Buying a spot from another athlete is prohibited.  There are other non WTC races that have transfer policies (from athlete to athlete), but the WTC does not.

Looks like if you're willing to do some fundraising, there are still some charity spots available.

I saw that too, but given the OP has been checking the website often, I figured he/she knew that already.

I live here (Done the race quite a few times now) and have never seen IMCal re-open registration after the race sells out. I guess its possible but I would not plan my race calendar around that possibility.

Also, bibs are non-transferrable so be careful about buying a bib.

Another alternative is to check out some of the other 70.3 races as quite a few of them are still open. (St. George for example)

Some mistakes I made during the Hawaii Ironman 70.3. Don't be caught out on the course not knowing how or not having the equipment to change a flat tire.

It was the morning of Ironman Newfoundland 70.3, I felt queasy. I didn't want to eat or drink anything. I had a full blown case of the pre-race HEEBEE GEEBEES.
