Its been a long time, 18 months twiddling your thumbs is not fun. Had a few issues with my heart rate going to high when doing anything. On memorable occasion I hit HR 147 after walking to the end of my street. Well.. its fixed, started running ..ok lets be real , jogging, 2 days ago and the HR is steady I can control it, if I slow down, it slows down and vice versa. covers 2,5k today and I am still here, It feels great.
I am going to take things slowly, very slowly but I really miss this sport and the friends I made doing it.

It's been seven months since my spare part list got longer with a new prolapsed mitral heart valve. How does this affect your times and training? I just want to compete for the fun and enjoyment.

I am a new runner and my heart rate spikes with a very small increase in effort. So, when I run 2 or 3 miles (non-stop), I jump up to Zone 3, 4, and 5 almost immediately. What can I do?

Initially most patients with mitral valve regurgitation have normal heart function. But when the heart starts to function poorly, patients will start to become more short of breath with exertion.

Is training heart rate impacted by mitral valve prolapse and if so, how do you adjust accordingly.
