I'm in! Didn't think I had a shot of getting in online but I did. I guess the conditions yesterday scared some folks off. It'll be my second full and I'm looking forward to it.

I'm in for 2015. It will be my 3rd IMFL. I love this venue. Hate to hear that the pros won't be doing this race anymore.

Pro's don't really factor for me, never really see them in IM races, they are always on their way to the airport before I get off of the bike!
I hear rumors of a phased swim start, that might help,
The out & back at the bike half way mark is unpleasant and tiring, their has got to be a better option!

I heard rumors of moving to a 2 loop bike course that would remove that bad 8 mile stretch of road.

The swim will be a rolling start.  No details on what exactly that means.  I'm thinking it might look something like Chattanooga this year.  they let us go in groups of 6 or so. then waved the next group to go 5 or so seconds later.

Yikes, that'd take for ever (think of this years bike!) I've done 1/2's where they send of the age groups (or groups of smaller age groups) a few minutes apart.

This thins the herd, but has the effect of getting swam passed (over) every couple of mins by the FOPers from the group behind! Though this is still better than the stampede & brawl of a mass start.

Yea agreed... not sure if they'll do it exactly like IMChoo, they said more details to follow, so who knows... but they said it definitely be a "rolling start".

Good news Anne,

Many thanks for volunteering this year, was greatly appreciated - even if I was shivering too intensely to vocalize it at the time :/

It was sooooo cold. We worked sunscreen in the morning and then served food from 7-11. When we were walking back to the hotel, there were racers still out on the marathon course and I remember seeing an older gentleman shivering so violently that he was walking nearly doubled over. He was on Joan Drive. I wish I had gotten his race number, I wondered if he was able to finish the race.

I’m doing IM’s 4 (Roth in July) and 5 (Florida) next year.

I’m super organised for Roth.  Flights, car, bike transport, accommodation all booked and paid for.

I don’t know where to start with Florida!  We’re going to spend the first week at Disney then travel to Panama on the Monday before.  But beyond that I haven’t got a clue.  But I’ve always wanted to race in the US and also always wanted to take the kids to Disney before they get too old (13 & 10 come next November).  This is going to take some planning and a credit card.

Merry Christmas to all you IMFLr's!!! I'd be interested in hearing about what other races you are all contemplating for 2015. Trying to decide on a 70.3 (that doesn't require too much travel).

And also to you )

Thinking I may do either or both of San Juan, Puerto Rico (late March) or St Croix, Virgin Islands (early May)- neither of which require too much travel - for me ) Neither of these is likely to sell out, so they will be a last minute decision for me - based on how busy I am with work at the time.
