Comments:

This is a marathon double weekend so I wasn't running as hard as I could. I had a good, steady run. Oddly enough though, even if I had run as hard as I could I still doubt I could have advanced my place even by one. The guy who finished ahead of me finished almost 20 minutes ahead and the buy behind me finished just about 48 seconds back.
What would you do differently?:

Event comments:

The Soldier marathon had more concrete than I like but it was a very nice urban course. The majority of it is on bike path, the fall colors were nice and running alongside the river for big stretches was also nice. As a former infantryman, it was a real treat beginning and ending at the Infantry Museum.

I signed up for Ironman Frankfurt, next year July - and I am very excited about it. I originally planned to run my first Marathon in the middle of September, but am not sure if this is wise.

My training was taking off. I had never felt stronger. I was making bigger strides than I ever had. I was stronger and faster than I had imagined myself ever being.

I can't say it enough, the feeling of treading water for that final minute, helicopters over head, Mike Riley's Iron-voice over the P.A. - just awesome. I cannot believe I'm here!
