Happy Veterans day everyone.

QOTD: What is your favorite Post-Workout Meal. You know, the meal you spend the last 2 hours of your log workout dreaming about that takes away some of the mental and physical aches when its all done.

And of course, please post a bit about your workout(s) for today, planned and/or completed.

Today calls for 30 minutes of strength/core work, then 45 minutes of Sufferfest

My favorite post work out meal is anything really. Usually crave protein. Lately I just have a protein shake or bar. Nothing exciting for sure.

Our tri club went for a "Bun Run" today. It was 2 degrees F. We went for a 10 mile run, followed up at the coach's house for home made cinnamon buns. A great day.

Hey friends,
Today I had a 50 minute run starting from the St. Lawrence river, all the way up to the top of Monut Royal. Lots of stairs and a killer view at the top on this beautiful warm and clear day. As for a post workout meal, I guess it depends on the climate. After a cold run in the dead of winter I could come back and bury my face in a big bowl of Mac n' Cheese and eat my way out (real healthy, I know), or during the summer time a big quinoa salad with cold fruit in it. I'm known to just take a lot of different healthy things that don't necessarily go well together and put it all in a bowl. Done

Today is very cold and clear with enough wind to make sure that cold penetrates.  I have a session on the track this evening:

0.75 mile warmup

8 x 400m @1:35 with full 400m recovery jog between each.  This is mainly to develop running efficiency and improve form.

0.75 mile cool down

QOTD:  Not some much what I eat that is important (though a pizza is a good bet) but that I have a few ice cold beers.

65 minutes of running including 6 X 800m at about 6:20 pace. Pathetic. Kept thinking about how I did those in 2:40 in HS. But didn't feel any easier. Aging sucks!

QOTD: It's so hot here that it's rare for me to end an outdoor run or bike hungry for anything. After swimming, anything goes. Maybe pasta. For some reason I often crave Japanese ramen (not the instant kind) after swimming. On weekends, after I've cooled down, I like to go out for a leisurely brunch as I have to rush thru breakfast during the work week, Usually an omlette, bread, fruit, coffee. One cafe does a a great "Turkish brunch" that includes a spinach and feta omlette and veggies with humus.

Busy day but managed to get out for a late lunch workout.

Ran from the office down to state beach then up to Powerhouse Park and jumped in the ocean for a quick trip out to the buoy then headed back to work. (10 mile run, 1000 meter swim)

Weather is awesome today and looks like it will continue at lest through Sunday. (Perfect running weather)

Ugh--now I am hungry. I took breakfast to work so no time for omelette. PBJ on bread from the German bakery, plus a fried Vietnamese donut and an iced latte. (I know--I eat like the 10 year olds I teach! We won't even discuss my addiction to Korean ramen.)

Not related to QOTD, but I just logged and noticed my running and biking hours are almost in a dead heat. 171h33m for bike and 171h35m for run. My goal for both is 200 hours this year. I should make it easily on the bike as I still have a bike bike tour planned at year's end. Running will be down to the wire (it shouldn't have been, but I've missed about 4-6 weeks of normal volume owing to minor injuries and travel) and will depend on how I feel after my HM in four weeks, and whether or not I can run at all on the bike tour in Sri Lanka. Which will win??
