I have decided to do this, rather than IMCDA...the cost factor was my main reason...but also, I can train on the course and have lots of friends doing this.  Anyone else in for this?  Price is only $375 until 12/31/14.

I'm in again for next year. There are a lot of GFT Alumnae who have taken advantage of the complimentary entry promotion for next years 25th Anniversary. At last count if I recall correctly there were something like 450 alums, and over a hundred first timers already signed up. I have done this race or the aquabike multiple times and recommend it highly.

Yes, that's awesome. We have quite a few people coming from our Tri club. I have done the half up there a few times – the intimidator. When you're swear it was harder than Ironman Florida! Plan on coming up there at least once a month when I get into swing!! Yay

I was planning on doing Augusta 70.3 next year but thinking about doing the GFT since it will be such a great 25 yr event. I volunteered this year and was planning on volunteering again next year. I heard they might move it after 2015 so might be my last chance to do it. Question is I have about 2 years of Sprints (even at the Clermont site) 2 Olympics and like I stated was planning on starting 70.3 next year with possibly IM Fl in 2016. Could I be ready to do GFT next year especially since it allot harder?? I know the answer will be if I trained properly then I should be okay, but would it be a wise choice? I can do it cheap with volunteer race credit so (would not go into the event thinking this but) if I cannot finish then will not be out much money. Then in 2016 I could do the Augusta IM Fl combo events. Thoughts?

You have a year to train. I say go for it. I also think it will be quite a bit more challenging than IMFL but it's such a great price, would be a good way to experience the distance!

Already a cyclist and not a bad swimmer, I figured all I had to do was build up to running a few miles and I’d be ready to go. The challenge invigorated me, and I ran out to buy new running shoes.

You’re probably not going to get it just right immediately. Like always, just do the best you can and keep on keeping on. Don’t get upset if you don’t hit the target every time.
