IMLP is a great race....
Swim cancelled or not, you're still an Ironman...lol. That first 90 minutes in the water is just the warm up anyway.....!

I was wondering when someone would start a IMLP thread lol!! Im looking forward to it. I volunteered in 2014, and completed my first Ironman in Florida in 2013. Looking forward to some hills.

Anyone doing tinman or rev3 quassy as a warm up? quassy might be overkill.

This year was a crazy weather year at both IMLP and IMFL. I'm registered for Florida also next year so I hope the weather is smooth for both.

I'm in this year as well. I did it in 2012 and approaching Ironman very different this time around. With everything else I have going on, my goal is to finish with minimal training, investment (tenting at KOA as opposed to a hotel) and enjoy the experience as much as possible. I'm looking forward to it!

I stayed at koa 1st year and it was nice. 2nd year I stayed at huntington hotel and cottages across the road from the koa...its was a dump but it was only$85/night and didnt have to worry about rain.

If anyone is still looking for lodging check it out. it was old but fairly clean, and i got in a month before the race

Is anybody doing a training camp on location in Lake Placid?

I'm training for this race in Miami and we're known for lots of things (cuban coffee, bad drivers) but not for having lots of mountainous terrain. I trained for France on a computrainer so I can prep for the climbing but the descending is a whole different story. I am chicken little on a bike going down the hills.

I'm looking at either the PRS fit camp www.prsfit.com or the Team mossman camp www.teammossman.com. I'm hoping to decide and register before the end of the year to take advantage of the lower pricing.

Just wondering if anybody has heard of these ... know anything about them... wanna join me up there?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks it looks like the fireman camp is not happening anymore because the website stopped in 2013. Too bad.

That is actually the same weekend as both of the camps I'm looking at. So I'll definitely be in town that weekend.

how is everyone doing getting through the first part of the winter and the holidays? I've had great run of training since October, although this week has been little tough and next week may be too because of a combination of work and holiday stuff.

If any of you are like me -- time crunched middle/back of packers going at this with low volume, I'd like to hear what your training is like at this point. To get me through the end of the year I've been doing a combination of tweaked versions of the Trainer Road low volume HIM plan with some Sufferfest videos mixed in for the bike, a Higdon beginner marathon plan running, and just building volume in the pool. I get started with a coach in January.

im just doing "maintenance" type stuff 2-3 1 hour runs a week and 1-2 days of speed work. speed being a very relative word lol. Doing 60-90 min spinerval videos 2-3x a week, and some strength/leg work in the gym. Havent been swimming since july...will start that 1/1 ish and it will not be pretty

I am running Boston in April and Ironman Lake Placid is in July. I have been told that it is ambitious to think about doing an IM so close to a marathon due to the recovery time. Any suggestions?
