You know when you peel the sticker off your helmet and seat post after a race? And it leaves half of it behind no matter how carefully you try to peel it off in 1 piece? Does anyone have any tricks or can recommend something to help remove the leftover crap without damaging my helmet and seat post? Thanks guys!

I put a piece of clear packing tape on the helmet and then put number on that....peels right off post race. For the number on the bike you can't beat this:

Inexpensive, clean and works great!

In my experience, Both!

I've never had much trouble with them to be honest, but I use alcohol for any other sticker related mess.

Rubbing alcohol or baby oil (I'd try them in that order) should remove the adhesive residue.

My helmet isn't expensive.  I don't worry about the residue or marring the shell.

My tri bike is irreplaceable.  I don't want to mar it so I rarely attach the stickers directly to the bike.
I usually try to fold the sticker over a cable, attach it to something else (for Vineman, I pinned the tag to my bento bag) or I leave the middle part of the sticker covered with the paper backing and stick the ends of the sticker together around the top tube or seat post.

I think it's time for a new helmet and seat post.
