Short day at school today...yahoo!  Excited for a nice long weekend! Have a great Thanksgiving tomorrow--I will be up and training so you can bet there will be a thread tomorrow! Gobble gobble!

Just going to be a short prep run with some strides today. Gunning for a big 5k PR tomorrow....or a massively epic blow up.

Morning!

Didn't feel that great last night so went to bed at 6:30.
Got up at 6:30 this morning feeling much better! Sometimes I think our bodies just get run down (at least mine does) and it needs to recharge.

8:30am- 7.2 mile run - nice to run my normal early morning route in the light of day. Felt good, guess I needed the rest!

Kids are out of school at noon today, so not much time to get anything else done. I'm teaching tomorrow morning so will be up training as well!

Enjoy the day everyone!

Great swim got into a lane with another triathlete at about the same speed as me and after talking for a bit we practiced drafting and passing for 50 minutes up and down the 50 M pool was quite a bit of fun actually.

Got up early and did my run. Parked at the beach and ran from Powerhouse Park up to Swami's and back. (10 Miles)

I am heading up to a cabin in Idyllwild later today and will be unplugged for the rest of the week.

My plan is to do a LOT of trail running on the PCT and up to the top of Taquitz and San Jacinto.

Sunday I will be back in town and have a long run planned for the afternoon.

Have a great holiday everyone

Guess I was asleep before you posted! 75 minute run this AM. Going to lay off the biking until the race (HM) next week and start backing off the run mileage as legs are feeling pretty tired lately. At this point the training's either there, or it's not. I have done what I can, don't feel like I could handle more volume or speedwork while working full-time and doing a modest amount of swim-bike maintenance as well. Hopefully will have a decent effort. I've given up on 1:30. My goal is just not to be any slower than last year, preferably break my over-40 PB (1:33). Now if I can just stay healthy--I have a long and ugly record of getting sick only during taper, so already getting paranoid!
