Subject: 1 Done and Hooked
Hi everyone. I did my 1st tri a few months back and I am hooked! I'm 32, married and live in Dallas. I recently received an email that I qualified for the Agre Group Nationals in Milwaukee and I'm hoping I can make the trip. Given I'm new to the sport I have plenty of questions and I'm hoping to learn from some of the people on this site.

Congrats on the AG Nats!  How did your first race go?  Which one was it?

Thanks! I'm not sure if I qualified because the field was so small or because I actually did ok. The race was called the "Denison Red River Rampage" on the border of TX and OK. My time was 2:33. Given I was nowhere near top shape or that well trained for the race I'm shooting to shave at least 10-15 mins off that time on my next race. Of course getting there won't happen until 2015!

I'm going to let you in on how to get faster by doing nothing. Well, not exactly nothing, but you won't have to raise your heart rate, put out 300 watts, or really even break a sweat.

I quickly browsed an article in Men's Health that talked about doing a triathlon, and how it wasn't really that hard. With a "tsk!" I quickly turned the page while thinking, "Yeah, right!"
