Alright, some PP'ers are going to be here, I know that.  Who else is coming to lovely Crystal Lake, home to at least three BT'ers (myself, Whizzzzz, and SteveinIL) probably more.  The race is cheap and pretty flat.  Come set your half mary PR!

Sorry. If I run a half marathon I am running the Alpine Half marathon in Lake Zurich. ok its silly to have 2 half marathons so close by. I did not pick the date. Atleast though we have a Cysdale division which I am.

Hmmm..... intriguing.... I might have to see if I can fit this in...  although with my 'A' race being the Chicago Half on Oct 1, I would be using this more as a training run.

well I was training for a 15k and well I ran a 15k everyweek + 15k+ every week. The idea was to get used to a distance. if a half was the only race I was going to train for at my concert condiation I would frankly run a half every weekend until it. its a safe distance to do it with.

Wooohoo!  Excellent.

C'mon Laura, it's cheap and maybe I'll embarrass myself again.  At the very least you'll get to make fun of me again.  That alone should be worth the trip.

Okay, okay ... I cave so easily.

I'm planning on being there.

But - let me lay out all my disclaimers first:
1. This is a training run for me
2. I will be getting back from 4 days in Vegas Saturday night
3. I'm going to Vegas with what I call my "bad-influence friend" (the BEST kind!) so my guess is that sobriety is not going to play much of a part in this trip.
4. Uh, let's see, oh yea, the long drive to Crystal Lake that early in the morning is a killer....
5. I'm sure I could come up with more, but I'll let that be a surprise for race day....

I'd love to do a race so close to home, however, I'll be racing Lake Geneva that very day! (I think... or maybe it's the day before, in which case I'll be up in Madison cheering on the IMWI crew...) either way I'll be in Cheeseland.

Good Luck to all involved!!!

GO WEINERS!!!

YAY YAY YAY, Laura is coming!

Don't worry, it's a training run for me too, to try to figure out my Chicago pace.  I need a number to put into that Macmillian calculator.  I'll run hard, but no taper.

And that drive will be a b!tch.  AND I have to work that day....and...and....

OH, and why on earth would you stay sober in VEGAS?  Isn't there a law against that?

I never got drunk 1 night when I was in Las Vegas. I only had 1 beer total while there. The lastest I was up in vegas was 9 pm. ok The day I left my flight left at 11:59 pm but I was at the airport by 9:00 pm. I just could not afford to miss that flight. Then again I was there for the marathon and had finals for graduate school in 2 days so I had to be a good boy. I think about going back to run the marathon and then go and party.

Ok, so here's the list so far.

MarkK

CindyK

StartingToTri

Schmize

Hangloose

Is that everyone?  I think a lot of people will either be at Lake Geneva or IMWI.  That's ok, I'm beginning to think the fewer people there to witness this the better for me!

Hi everyone!  I'm right next door to Crystal Lake (Carpentersville), but am training for the Half on Oct 1 downtown Chicago.....  Perhaps next year, I can do this one....man, I wish i knew about it earlier (haven't really been around much in the last three weeks-busy with the baby and my business)-it's right in my back yard!!

Good luck to all of you!!!! You'll do great!

Yep, you're just a few more miles away from us.  Maybe we'll see you here next year.  You could come out and watch if you're not busy on Sunday at 8am.  Lippold Park.  Go up to route 14 in Crystal Lake and go west to 176, go west on 176 and turn in to the park on your left.   Bring the baby - we are baby friendly.  Mine will be there.

Hey - there's a better-sized group pic in my album than the one I posted in my race report....   of course, I'm too lazy to paste in a link to it.
