Comments:

Was aiming for my first sub-20 min 5k. Almost made it!

Fun, flat course. Probably started out too fast and couldn't maintain my pace. My mile splits were increasingly slower minus the surge at the end. If I had started at a more moderate pace and aimed for a negative split, could I have beaten the 20 min mark? Hard to say.

What would you do differently?:

Happy with results and ran the race to the best of my current fitness level. Potentially start slower and take negative split approach. Add more interval training (i.e. mile repeats) to get used to maintaining 5k speed.
Post race
Warm down:

Light jog and walk w/ stretching.
Post race activities were awesome! Crowded bar with free beer and hot dogs and spring break levels of energy.

Event comments:

Great race and after party. Will definitely be back next year.

In November of 2000, I noticed that I was losing the feeling in my toes. The sensation traveled up my body and within a week, I was nearly 80% paralyzed.
