Now if it would only stop raining so I could ride it outside.

You're letting a little bit of rain stop you? If that was all that was standing in my way....

Dan, that is a sweet ride - very aggressive looking but pretty too - the Japanese will really appreciate it.

one hour trainer workout including 6x4min@LT with 2min recovery. Hardest workout for a while and I rocked it! really getting back into bike and swim ... next the run ...

Beth: We have an interesting house design - what you are seeing in the background is a second kitchen area with a small counter that we do not use very often. I have to admit that my trainer is set up in a pretty nice area with my wife's blessing.

Gabe: I live in Sendai which is about 280km north of Tokyo.

75 minutes on the drainer. TR Fang Mountain. Really lacked the motivation this morning. I knew once I started running again it was going to get tough to hit my cycling workouts. Have to resolve to deal with the adjustment. More PT today. Foot surprisingly feeling better. Used the roller this morning after the workout and did some yoga stength/stretching. Getting old sucks.

Yay you used the roller - welcome to the club! so what do you think/feel, Mitch?

and yes getting older sucks but I must say participating in Tri makes me look forward to those easier AG divisions :-)

It hurts, but trying to use it on multiple muscles/tissues in my legs: ITB, calf, quads. Hoping that coupled with the yoga I will be healthier.

I turn 44 in March. 1 more year until the next AG. I haven't looked to see what impact that has on my placement in Tri's and run races.

DanC awesome bike, and sounds like an awesome upcoming ride

Dennis Tad Hughes is amazing. I've read a lot about him.

Mitch Yes to the foam roller. I left mine in Austin with BF and bought another one while in Tallahassee. Just don't use it in place of proper medical care, but in addition.

Also, "getting old sucks". That may be true, but it sure beats NOT getting old ;-)

I always check the older AG and I think I can podium in 20 years from now thatis if everyone else in my current AG gets bored of tris, but we all know that's unlikely!

run yesterday and swim today.
First time running on a month - didn't bother following Garmin pace, HR rocketed, it was 36 degrees but I loved every minute of it.
Starting to feel motivated again, which is good as race day will be here soon enough!

My plan is to age them out of the podium. I turn 49 in April, I expect a significant improvement in placement next year.

Yup, I know the feeling I had my bad cramping at the beginning of the month and just got back from a multi-day out of town meeting. The important thing is to do what you can and keep going. Next month is the official start of training.

Didn't realize how lost I have been for the last couple of weeks. Updating totals, have been pretty consistent, but short sessions due to work and related obligations. Typically, this would stress me out, but have to come much better terms with understanding the difference between needs and wants in my training.

First solo (non-child) road race in about a year today. 5 miler and it is 8 degrees here. Just looking for a solid effort (no PR).

Forgot how much short races hurt and continue to wonder why I do them. Goals was 35' for the race and came in at literally 34:59. About 90" behind my PR but faster than I ran it in 2011. 7/70 in the AG, 85/1020 OA.

Your training plan is a guide but you don’t blindly follow it. You shouldn’t know exactly what you are going to do until the day you are to do it.
