Mitch I got Zwift up and running last night but I had some issues selecting the correct trainer info so it wasn't working properly. I found some info on the website today so hopefully I can get it all sorted tomorrow. I was able to ride around a little bit, albeit at a pretty slow pace/power, and it was pretty cool. Looking forward to getting it up and running correctly.

Hello and hope everyone is doing great!  I was missing in action due to an intense week at work and a couple of boards I participate in, but finally updating my totals.  I got to try Zwift today for the 2nd time for a 2hr ride and I agree with Joe, it is kind of addictive and it is funny how it pushes that little competitor we all have inside.

Getting ready to fly tomorrow to Brussels for the Global Seafood show and then on to Germany to run the Dusseldorf Marathon next Sunday the 26.  It will be interesting to see how I do after having social events every night in Brussels and also being undertrained (but I have gotten some surprises in the past two races, so you never know :-)

Gabe - make sure you sync your Zwift account with Your Strava account. Much more fun to see your PRs and how you stack up with the rest of your friends and the world. There's and option somewhere in settings to link your accounts and then when you end a ride it asks if you want to save to Strava.

For any interested parties, I'll probably be on Zwift around 9:00 ET tonight. Intention is not to ride hard but we'll see.

I was the opposite...surprised at the short power I could generate tonight. PRs on the sprint and climbs. Good riding with you. Did you see my texts? I've been using the smartphone app and it helps a bit.

I was in my own world the first time you flew by me. Was thinking to myself that guy is going for the polka dot jersey. Inspired me to work a bit more. Then I passed you and about half a lap later I finally realized that it was DaveL...LOL. The Canadian flag should have been a bigger hint for me!

Adding 9hrs of my first real 50k trail ultra on Sunday. I had a blast and will make it a regular yearly event. Seems very slow, I know, but so is climbing Everest. This was all about mountains up and down and sideways. After 7hrs I was done, started swearing, wanted to cheat or just plain quit. Somehow managed to endure and kept going finishing in pouring rain, but running through the chute. About 30 competitors only, 4 of them still behind me. Great experience!

Yes I saw the messages, I couldnt reply because my laptop is set up to my side and behind me so I cant really type without getting off the bike. I have to set up the app on my phone, then the trash talking will really start

zwift keeps crashing for me :-( I can play for 5 mins max then locks up. Shame its SOOOOOOO addictive and really fires than competitive spirit! I did manage in one session to get 3rd in KoM - boy was I stoked!!! Sadly the crash doesn't record the data. Working with Customer Service to try and resolve.

I'm not sure how the private texts work. I sent one private and a couple group. When I send a group text I see it in the screen. I dint think I ever saw my private text. It will be nice at some point if they get voice communication through the mic on your earbuds.

Mine has been stable since my first ride that didn't save. I was really PO'd last night...set a PR on the sprint and still was only second. I admire the riders who legitimately earn all three jerseys at once!

Catching up with pre-race work outs. I'm going to assume the race counts since the whole thing took me 1:23 but the only part that was over 30 was the bike. How do you calculate that? 1 point for the day and 48 minutes added for the bike?

'legitimately' made me chuckle ... first time I tried it I forgot to engage the roller - I was FLYING around at 30+ MPH until I realized :-) its clever how there is logic to monitor this and flag you as a 'flier'. but I bet there will be abusers ...

You always get a point for a day when you have 30 or more minutes of either swim, bike or run. You then total all minutes of swim, bike, and run for the day regardless if some were less than 30 minutes.

Dave, thank you.
Interestingly, the day after is not as bad as after a street marathon where you beat few muscles to a pulp, here the whole body feels tired, but walking is not a problem.

So I finally got around to taking a picture of my award. I got 3rd in the Caveman triathlon. Man I was so tired afterward yesterday and extra tired today. It was so cool to get my name called. But I'm not thrilled about the rock. What other awards do you get for placing?

Your training plan is a guide but you don’t blindly follow it. You shouldn’t know exactly what you are going to do until the day you are to do it.
