Expert 1255 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | Subject: RE: Consistency Equals Success - CLOSED Ernesto was at my first triathlon in 2011. I watched Ernesto complete IMTX in 2011. I watched Gabe complete IMTX in 2012. I watched IMTX in 2013. I don't remember who I knew in it that year. I watched about 35 people I know complete IMTX in 2015. I heard people rave about the pirate aid station this year. I saw Dennis and his wife at the IMTX awards banquet, and saw my first Kona rolldown show. What an experience. What a great sport! That is all. |

123 | Subject: RE: Consistency Equals Success - CLOSED Originally posted by dgconner154 As promised, race report from last weekend's pool tri. The swim wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but overall I was a little disappointed in my performance. It was good to get my new bike out in a race for the first time and I came away with some positioning tweaks that should help for next race, so that's a positive. Despite working on my bike fitness this winter I still get the beginnings of calf cramps at the start of the run, which slowed me down a little in this race. Need to get closer to my open run pace off the bike. http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/RaceLog/races-view-container.asp?... Boo, I can't get this link to work. Can someone post a working like like you did for Jackie's race? please please? :D |

292 , Massachusetts | Subject: RE: Consistency Equals Success - CLOSED Adding 59:00 brick this afternoon - 52:30 on trainer doing a 20 minute FTP test followed by a mile at race pace (6:30) on treadmill. Still trying to get me calves used to working hard off the bike. As a bonus, bumped my FTP up to 295w. Probably going to be a quiet training weekend as we have friends coming in from out of town. Master 3022 | Subject: RE: Consistency Equals Success - CLOSED Spent about 6 hours yesterday taking every thing out of our garage, cleaning the garage, reorganizing it and then about an hour of yard work. I was exhausted. Cut this morning short and did an hour of aerobic effort on the drainer. Weather permitting, the plan is to get my QR out for its virgin ride in the rode tomorrow. 292 , Massachusetts | Subject: RE: Consistency Equals Success - CLOSED Final Fenix 3 update. I've reset the watch and tried everything I can think of (with the exception of the foot pod) and I still have pace issues. In addition, I took a look at the GPS tracks overlaid on Google Earth and there is a lot of corner cutting and inaccuracy in the GPS tracking. Hopefully Garmin will straighten this issue out but in the meantime I'm returning mine within the Amazon return timeframe rather than duke it out with Garmin over whether or not the unit is defective. The issue seems pretty pervasive so I believe they'll figure it out eventually, and when they do I'll gladly buy another one. If they don't then I'll probably go with the 920xt as it doesn't seem to have these problems. The extra bells and whistles on the Fenix are nice but I'd rather have a watch that performs the essential functions correctly. |

I was rereading DCR's review today and a lot of the recent comments as well. Seems like a lot of folks are experiencing your issues. Also, seems like there is an issue with pace smoothing too. My bro-in-law just bought one and tried to convince me to get one. I'll wait for the bugs to get ironed out. |

292 , Massachusetts | Subject: RE: Consistency Equals Success - CLOSED Started out doing a 1 hour ride on Trainer Road this morning before work but I got interrupted and only finished 34 minutes. Tonight I jumped on the trainer after the baby went to sleep and did Morgan 30 (5x3-minute VO2 max repeats at 120% FTP). Tough workout but fun and an efficient use of time. Followed it up with a hard effort mile on the treadmill. Total of 1:10 for the day. 292 , Massachusetts | Subject: RE: Consistency Equals Success - CLOSED It seems like some units have the issues and some are fine, and it's just luck of the draw if you get one that functions properly. Too bad, it would be an incredible watch otherwise. Hopefully Garmin works it out. |

353 Conroe, Texas | Subject: RE: Consistency Equals Success - CLOSED Catching up on my totals. The wife and I competed in our first triathlon as a relay team and we took first place for the Olympic distance over the weekend. Very wet but exciting day spent with my wife an 3 other Tri group friends. Another first for me this weekend when I was bit by a dog while on a run thru my hood Monday night. The dog snuck up behind me and bit my left calf. Very bad bite consisting of 4 large deep gashes. I have a photo but I will spare you gruesome details. I am about to under go a 2 week rabies shot treatment for the bite! Be careful out there guys.
