or favorite movies.  I was thinking about favorite movies and decided that my favorite movies are ones that I will watch over and over.  None of the movies on my favorite movie list are critically acclaimed, but I like them.  Most of them make me laugh and are perfect for quoting along.  This thought was prompted by watching the sing-along version last night of the first movie on the list:

Sound of Music

Breakfast Club

Princess Bride

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Life of Brian

Coming to America

My Cousin Vinny

Christmas Vacation

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

What do you consider your favorite movies?

My list also includes Christmas Vacation and Ferris Bueller's Day Off.  My son is nine and it has been great introducing him to what I consider to be the older classics.

He also loves Gremlins, Home Alone (we watched Home Alone 3) last night, and Happy Gilmore.

I like Breaking Away, the older James Bond movies (pre-Roger Moore)

I was just talking with my manager who is about my age and she brought up:

Back to the Future

Great movie - had to ask the 24 year olds on my team if they'd heard of it. thankfully, yes, but not Princess Bride ... sad.

I was obsessed with this movie when it came out and announced I was going to become a professional ice skater after I saw it in the theater! I still have to watch it every time it's on TV. So good.

If you guys want a fun idea with your favorite movies, my Dad started a tradition many years ago where he gives his favorite movies to me and my sister for Christmas, one every year. I love it.

Not necessarily favorite movies below, just the ones I keep coming back to...

Breaking Away - love seeing that someone else had it on their list, it's pretty much my 'most watchable' movie ever..
Crimes and Misdemeanors
Point Break
Three O'Clock High
That Thing You Do!
A Mighty Wind/Best In Show(pretty much the same movie)
Le Mans
Wag the Dog
Lost In America(the 'nest-egg' rant is one of film's great moments)

Ferris Bueller's Day Off
American Flyers
Breaking Away
The Matrix trilogy
Lord of the Rings trilogy
Van Helsing

In no particular order:
Oceans 11 (the new version)
The Princess Bride
Chinatown
Any James Bond movie
Breaking Away
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
The Usual Suspects
The Terminator and T2
Bull Durham
The Shawshank Redemption

If I turn on the tv and any of these movies are on, I'll start watching them regardless of where they are in the running time.

Notting Hill was on tv last night. Couldn't watch it but would have liked to. I guess that qualifies for the list, so...

Notting Hill
Ice age (the first one)

That's all I can think of in the category "movies I can watch over and over again". There are probably more (I hope) but for now, that's all I can come up with.

Some really good ones named already. I'll toss into the ring - Midnight Run with DeNero and True Romance which has probably my favorite scene of any movie.

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.
