So I'm reading that they're rated upwards of 3K miles. Do people on BT agree? I'm asking b/c I don't really have harsh winter conditions (e.g., excessive salt on roads) so why bother getting "training" wheels.

Happy holidays.

I've gotten over 2,500 miles on mine before replacing. I weigh 195 lbs and don't do too many "easy" rides.

I change every year usually a few weeks before my big race of the year. I do not put that many miles, probably not even close. The cost is not that great. I do the chain at that time too.

200 lbs.  I get 2000 miles (1.5 years) out of them.  Except for when a tube blew out last year.

Hate to hear that....I posted on this a week ago but decided to try them again...I had a blowout within 50 miles of use in a race resulting in a DNF

Keeping my fingers crossed that this set will be OK

Easily 3k miles...before I turn them into trainer tires. I'm 190 lbs and ride in the Northeast. I'm not sure they'd last as long in Nova Scotia. Have you seen the roads up there? They are like 20 grit sandpaper!

I don't really track mileage but i've gone through a few sets this year so I would say that it's around 2000 miles for me. I typically only replace the rear and rotate the front tire back and replace one tire at a time.  they rate or wear on the front/rear is pretty different for me.

Mine just now need to be replaced, with over 6k miles on them. I weigh about 130 pounds and my routes are on good roads, though.

So far in the few years of using them for training on the roads I've replaced the rear 2x to 1x front. I didn't track the mileage I used the wear dots to gauge.

I only race on a newer tires as they are the most aerodynamic.  I read the aero properties fall off pretty fast once they start wearing.

Depends how you ride on them and what type of road surface.  You will wear your rear tire out a lot faster if you spend a lot of time out of the saddle while rocking your bike or ripping through corners.

ETA:  Also depends on how much wear you are willing to ride with.  Some people ride their tires down till they are pretty squared off and thin.  Again...okay if you're just riding in a straight line on clean roads...not so much if you expect to do some hard cornering on roads with debris.

Didn't realize staying in your seat made a difference.

All other reports on BT seem awesome. Thank you all for your comments. Happy NY!

It's extremely frustrating and I even get in a bad mood when I run. I think I might have increased my mileage too fast. I have a hard time catching my breath now too, even at short distances.

It sounds like your ankle has seen plenty of mileage and, by the description of your surgeon’s plan, that you have damage to the articular cartilage that caps your talus bone.

My dog is an intelligent runner. She does a big stretch before she does anything. She starts out slowly and gradually builds up speed until we are running very fast.

“Less is more,” is a common buzz phrase in endurance sports today. It refers to the trend of training less but focusing on intensity and quality rather than on quantity.
