Waiting to see how the races go, but I personally am thrilled as I have avoided RMS for 2 years

Story says the new owner entered his first tri in 2014 and then bought RMS! Hell I'm scrapping money together for every race entry fee.

It will be interesting to see what direction this goes in. I hope this isn't a case of someone flipping a business.

BTW, Andy, add Goochland to the list. I was planning on doing it the year that Set-up dropped it.

I have avoided them for years because of the disorganization at the races and also because they would not do packet pick up the morning of the races.. I live in Williamsburg so running to RIC day before then morning of didn't make sense to me.. Hope it goes well I like having the opportunity to have so many races close.

Hi all, thanks for considering our events.

Yes, ownership changed back in December. This included the acquisition of a few events, primarily the East Coast Triathlon Festival in May. We won't be planning on adding a lot to our triathlon calendar, though some may move around a bit (due to UCI Worlds, holidays change each year, etc).

I've taken the role as the Race Director for the triathlons, and there will be some new running events in the works as well.

No, this won't be a case of business flipping. The new owner made a huge lifestyle change (lost 70+ lbs last year after starting to participate in triathlons) and is committed to the growth of the business.

sk2a2005, sorry that you haven't been able to join us for a while, but I can personally vouch for there being race day packet pickup available at every event since 2011. The previous owner encouraged athletes to pick up on Saturday just to prevent a crush on Sunday, but it wasn't mandatory... at least it hasn't been for quite some time. I started racing her events four years ago and never once made it to Saturday pickup... I always had to work. One major reason for my getting into the sport was that so many events were on Sunday. You can be assured that you can pick your packet up on race day at all of our events.

Hope to see you all this year! Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.

Anyone know the story with Richmond Multisports? It looks like the new ownership is closing up shop after just one year.

I don't know the story but Andy Moser, who has been the race director for RMS for the last couple of years, has started his own company and is putting on some of the old RMS tris in 2016. His company can be found at http://www.GoToElevenRacing.com
So far he is offering Robious Landing (I love the Tavern) and Pink Power. I hope he can add a few more.
